Kapoor Shakti is a famous Indian film actor. At the peak of the popularity of Indian cinema in the USSR in the 80s, this actor appeared on Russian screens no less than the young Philip Kirkorov or Alla Pugacheva. Shakti Kapoor was born on September 3, 1952, into a Punjabi family (the main population of Punjab). His real name is Sounir Sikanderlal Kapoor.

The future famous actor was born and raised in Delhi, in a large family. By the standards of India, their family was well off, as their father owned his own business - a sewing workshop. Sunira's mother ran a household and brought up children.
From childhood, Sounir was distinguished by his wayward character and unshakable willpower. He did not like to read, was thrice expelled from different schools for gross violation of the rules of conduct. In addition, Sounir had frequent conflicts with his father. The reason for all the conflicts was the son’s unwillingness to follow in his father’s footsteps and continue their family business. Sunir did not want to run a sewing workshop all his life. He wanted to do tourism and dreamed of opening his own agency.
While studying at college, the young man worked as a model. And after graduation, Kapoor managed to get a job at Mercury Travels and Asian Travel. Seeing the efforts of his son, Kapoor's father agreed to help him in opening his own agency. But at the last moment, he suddenly refused to help his son. This event was a turning point in the life of Sounir. Realizing that his dream would not come true soon, he got a job in a local theater as an actor.
Creation
After working for some time in the theater of his hometown, Sunir decided to continue to improve his acting skills and moved to the city of Pune. There he entered the Indian Institute of Film and Television and became one of his best students.
In 1975, Kapoor got his first movie role, starring in the movie Two Detectives. This relay did not bring him success in the movie. The next 5 years he starred in various films, playing good heroes, but these roles did not make him a famous actor.
In 1980, the famous Indian director Feroz Khan invited Sunir to play the role of a villain in his film Friends Forever. This role became crucial in the life of the actor, since after the release of the film on the screens on Kapoor they began to pay attention as an excellent actor. In 1981, the famous Indian film actor and producer Sunil Dutt offered Sunir the role of a villain in the movie "Rocky." At the same time, he advised Sunir to change his name to Shakti in order to more closely correspond to the new role. The success of Shakti Kapoor in this film forever strengthened him in the role of "bad guy."
In the period from 1981 to 1990, the actor played villains in more than 50 films. And in the 1990s, Shakti decided to change his role, playing several comic roles in such films as “I Want to Marry the Daughter of a Millionaire” (1994), “Raja Babu” (1994), “Gunda” (1998) and others. In 1995, the actor received the Filmfare Award for best performance of a comic role.
In 2005, the famous actor was at the center of scandal: being under the influence of alcohol, he made several rude remarks against some Indian celebrities. However, a public apology helped him avoid a boycott from Indian filmmakers.
In 2011, the actor was invited to participate in the reality show "Big Boss". This project helped the Kapoor family create a positive image in the media, which finally allowed to smooth out the 2005 scandal.

Personal life
While working in the cinema, Shakti met the sister of the famous Indian actress Padmini Kolhapura, Sivanga. Later, strong feelings arose between them. The lovers decided to get married, but the Shivangi family opposed, because between them there was a big difference in age (13 years). On January 12, 1982, Shivangi fled home and the lovers were able to marry.
It is known that the parents of Shivanga were able to accept the choice of their daughter only after the birth of their grandson - Siddhanta Kapoor. And later, the Kapoor couple also had a daughter, Shraddha.
