The reserve is a strategic human reserve of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation. According to the main legal act. Federal Law No. 53-FZ of March 28, 1998, “On Military Duty and Military Service, ” governing cooperation in this area, the category of reserve includes citizens who, in peacetime, are not subject to conscription for active military service, but may be called up for fighting in case a war starts.
The order of stay in the reserve, the categorization of "reserve" military personnel and other issues related to this topic are described in detail in Section VIII of the specified legal act. In particular, Article 53, which is called "Stock Composition", establishes that in total the entire composition of the stock is divided into 3 categories or categories. Moreover, membership in a particular category is determined on the basis of the age of the soldier, his gender and rank. In general, we can say that the maximum age established by the current legislation for staying in the reserve is 65 years: it is set for senior officers, and the remaining categories of military personnel have a lower threshold for the maximum age of staying in the reserve. Upon reaching this age, a soldier is deregistered, that is, he cannot be called up for service even in the event of hostilities.
