The environmental situation in the world is rapidly deteriorating. A person unfavorable for life is to blame for cutting down forests, extracting and consuming a huge amount of various resources, simplifying his life due to harmful inventions. As a result of such actions, an unflattering rating of the most polluted cities in Russia arose.

Instruction manual
1
The most polluted city in Russia was calculated by ROSSTAT - Federal State Statistics Service. The creators of the official bulletin describing the environmental situation in the country, in their studies, relied on two of the most important indicators today: how much emissions from stationary sources and from vehicles pollute the atmosphere. The amount of harmful substances was summed up, as a result of which a general rating was compiled for all cities of the country. However, it should be noted that the specialists were not completely objective. When distributing the seats, the toxicity level of the emitted substances and the area of cities were not taken into account.
2
The tenth most polluted city in Russia is Magnitogorsk. A city in the Chelyabinsk region annually releases 256 thousand tons of harmful substances into the atmosphere. The main “pollutant” of Magnitogorsk is the metallurgical plant located there. It accounts for almost 90% of all emissions. And only 10% are issued by transport.
3
Angarsk is on the ninth line of the unpleasant hit parade. This industrial city in the Irkutsk region annually produces almost 280 thousand tons of emissions. 95.5% are petrochemical, electrochemical, nitrogen fertilizer and other plants. Omsk, which took the eighth line, outstripped Angarsk by only 11 thousand tons of emissions (291.6 thousand tons per year). However, in this city the role of stationary sources is noticeably lower and amounts to just over 70%.
4
Seventh place was taken by Novokuznetsk. This city is one of the largest coal mining and metallurgical centers of the camp. As a result, the regional city in the Kemerovo region emits almost 320 thousand tons of harmful emissions per year. And a little more than 90% falls on industrial plants and enterprises.
5
In sixth place, just slightly ahead of Novokuznetsk, Lipetsk is located. The city releases about 323 thousand tons into the atmosphere per year. The main negative impact on the environment has a local metallurgical plant. On his "conscience" 92% of all emissions.
6
In the middle of the rating, in fifth place was the city of Asbest. Its share in the pollution is 330 thousand tons. As the name implies, asbestos mining and processing enterprises are the main negative factor - they account for almost 99% of emissions.
7
Fourth place in the ranking of the most polluted cities in Russia took Cherepovets. It carries out almost 365 thousand tons of emissions. About 60% of them are accounted for by Severstal, the city’s main metallurgical plant in the Vologda Oblast.
eight
In third place was St. Petersburg. They practically do not engage in industry and extraction of natural resources in this place. The main pollution factor of the city is transport: it emits about 86% of the total number of 488 thousand tons.
nine
The second place was taken by Moscow. Like in St. Petersburg, there is no serious industry and large factories in the capital, but the traffic flow is huge. As a result, about 996 thousand tons of harmful substances are emitted annually in Moscow. 93% of them supply cars and other vehicles.
ten
The most polluted city in Russia today is Norilsk. Almost 1960 thousand tons of harmful substances are released here annually. The main factor worsening the environmental situation is the famous Norilsk Nickel plant - it accounts for 99% of pollution.
