If you are threatened, the best and correct way out would be to contact the police department with the appropriate statement. However, your unsubstantiated allegations are unlikely to be a reason for initiating a criminal case. What to do in such a situation and how to write a statement that will be accepted for consideration?
Instruction manual
1
Before contacting the police, collect all possible evidence that you are being threatened. But first think about whether the threats are really baseless. So, if you owe a large sum of money and the criminals have documents in their hands confirming this, it is better to find the funds and pay them. If this is not possible, invite them to meet in court, and write down their threats of physical or other violence on a voice recorder or on a special device mounted in a landline phone (like an answering machine).
2
If you receive threatening letters by mail or e-mail, save them. Record all telephone conversations with those who may periodically call you with unkind intentions. If you have already suffered slight bodily injuries, be sure to contact a medical institution and fix them.
3
Before the situation is resolved, try to leave the house only accompanied by friends or relatives, and if this is not possible, do not walk, at least through deserted streets and parks, and do not return too late. Just in case, buy some means for psychological protection (gas spray, stun gun, air gun) and register it.
4
If those who threaten you call you to a meeting, be sure to come only with witnesses, having previously secured the support of relatives or reliable friends. From the offer to meet in private, refuse or ask your relatives to be nearby and, if possible, record this on video camera. Of course, you can turn to private detectives with this offer, but it will require considerable funds.
5
Only when you have collected all the possible evidence that you are being threatened, contact the police. You can make a statement in the department under the dictation of the duty officer or on your own. Write in the upper right corner of the sheet in the name of whom you are applying (for example, to the call center or to the head of the department of internal affairs of your area, indicating his name). Indicate your full name, date of birth, address and phone number.
6
Write the word “statement” (in lower case) on the middle of the page, then put a period. State the essence of the matter in a free form, trying to write in short clear phrases and describe only facts. Avoid the words "maybe, " "I guess, " "in my opinion, " etc. If the criminals are known to you, indicate their name and place of residence. Indicate where the witnesses were at the time you were threatened and that they could give evidence important to the investigation of the case. Give the name and address of the witnesses. If you have collected written, photo-video-audio materials, attach copies of them to the application, and at the end of it make a list of applications.
7
Check that the attendant has registered your application and issued you the relevant certificate. If you are denied to initiate criminal proceedings on the fact of threats, contact the prosecutor’s office with a complaint about the omission of police officers.
