The Slavs lived in small settlements along the banks of rivers and lakes. Their first dwellings were dugouts, covered with earth and thatch. In the cold season, they red-hot stones on fire, and then, scalding them with water, filled the dugout with warm steam. In the future, the homes of our ancestors have changed. They began to smear wicker huts with clay. And then they began to build more solid structures from logs. Such huts were drowned in black - in the center, a hearth was bred, the smoke of which went into the hole in the wall or ceiling.

The harsh climate made our ancestors learn how to make warm clothes for themselves from animal skins. To hunt successfully, people mastered such weapons as a bow and arrow, spear, stone ax and ax. Armed, a person could even cope with the owner of the forest - a bear. In the warm season, the clothes of the Slavs consisted only of a shirt and trousers for men, and a long shirt for women.
