Those whose youth occurred in the 90s are surely familiar with the voice of Yuri Klinsky, better known as Yuri Khoy. The songs of the Gas Sector group sounded in every yard where youth gathered. The frank themes and the form of their performance differed sharply from what the Soviet musical culture had been promoting for decades.

Childhood
Jura was born on July 27, 1964 in the family of Nikolai Mitrofanovich and Maria Kuzminichna Klinsky. My father devoted himself to the profession of engineer at an aircraft factory, his mother worked at the same enterprise as a riveter. Yura grew up an ordinary Voronezh boy. The only thing that distinguished him from his peers was his great love of music. Creative inclinations to the teenager were inculcated by the father who wrote poetry and even tried to publish. Rock and roll often sounded in the house, and there was no ban on Western music. First, Yuri mastered the guitar, and then, following in the footsteps of his father, began to compose poetry, and then write songs.
Youth
The work biography of the young man began at the factory. At the same time, he received a driver’s license. He served in tank troops in the Far Eastern Blagoveshchensk. Returning home, I tried many specialties. For three years he served in the traffic police, in the guard. He worked at the plant as a milling machine operator, loader, operator of CNC machines. Any work that drives him into some kind of framework was hateful. Klinsky devoted all his free time to music. He did not dream of fame, playing a musical instrument and creating songs he perceived as a hobby. Great influence on the work of Jura had a love of horror films and mystical literature. In the early 80s, a self-taught musician recorded his best songs on a tape recorder. The first stage performance took place in 1987 at the city rock club.
"Gaza Strip"
The “Gas Sector” was dubbed the Left Bank district of Voronezh, famous for its unfavorable ecology and rampant crime. With this name, Jura Klinsky appeared at the dawn of his solo career. The group of musicians formed six months later, but its composition was constantly changing. Only the style and image of the group remained constant. For Yura and his musicians, there was no censorship or forbidden topics.
The success of a simple provincial guy could take place only thanks to the onset of perestroika and democratic changes in society. At first, the band gave concerts only in their native Voronezh. The Gas Sector gained wide popularity thanks to amateur recordings that spread outside the city with unprecedented speed. Since few of the listeners knew their idol by sight, dozens of his doubles traveled around the country.
The debut albums "Plows-Woogie" and "Collective Farm Punk" were recorded in terrible quality, so they sold only among local lovers. In 1990, the guys recorded the book "The Evil Dead" and "Yadrena Louse." The listeners were very impressed by the rebel and swindler Klinsky. Although he tried not to abuse profanity, it was often present in his songs - it was easier to convey the characters of the characters. During the concerts, Yuri used his favorite cry "Hoi!". So the pseudonym was born.
The Gas Sector has toured extensively throughout the country and beyond. The songs of Yuri Khoy fully reflected the time in which he lived. Many works appeared from ordinary everyday situations. His work aroused great interest. He was admired or not accepted, but it certainly could not leave anyone indifferent. In some compositions folklore notes sounded, therefore there were those who considered this a new folk music.
In some songs, the author reflected the events that happened in his life. The song "Java" about high-speed motorcycle riding, which Khoy loved, "30 years" was dedicated to his anniversary. Everyone who has served in the army is familiar with Demobilization. Over time, the compositions became more melodic: "Lyrics", "Your Call".
Klinsky and Khoy were like two different people. On stage, Jura looked tough and uncompromising. At the very beginning of his career, he resembled a careless and rollicking punk. Later, leather jackets and army equipment were replaced by trousers, shirts and expensive shoes. Yuri was not a supporter of one style, he wore what was convenient for him, and attributed the changes in appearance to the age and the wisdom that came with him. In the circle of friends, the musician was transformed, becoming cheerful and kind. A man of great soul, he possessed incredible energy and charisma.
Personal life
Yuri met his wife Galina before the army. During the time spent together, the wife gave birth to two daughters. The older Irina became a professional psychologist, the youngest Lilia works at Lukoil. At a concert in 1991, Hoy met the young blonde Olga Samarina, they began an affair. It is believed that the girl became the cause of the singer’s addictions. The wife knew about the existence of the rival and the throwing of her husband, but kept the marriage. She preserved this fidelity even after his death, without having created a new family.
The 35-year-old idol left behind a great creative legacy. No less remained unrealized plans. The creator of the legendary group and its permanent soloist did not have a special musical education, but received the main thing - the love of millions. On the day of the musician’s funeral, heavy rain fell, but fans came to spend their idol on the left bank of the city - in the “Gas Sector”.
