Vorobyova Natalya Vitalyevna - Honored Master of Sports and Olympic champion in 2012 in freestyle wrestling. Biography
Vorobyova Natalia Vitalyevna was born in the Irkutsk region, in the small Siberian town of Tulun in May 1991. Her family has mixed many traditions and roots. The father is Lezgin, but in his family there are Dagestanis, Ossetians and other Caucasian nationalities. And the mother is Russian.
Natalia began to engage in “completely non-female” sports back in school years, at the famous Dzhiganchan. And it happened quite by accident - a girl with her friends went to a neighboring school to admire a small freestyle wrestling museum. Medals, cups, diplomas, photos. There the coach noticed them, inviting them to try their strength. Under the guidance of her mentor, Kamil Dzhiganchanina, the talented and stubborn Natasha was able to defeat the Russian champion at the girls freestyle wrestling tournament.
And then the family moved to St. Petersburg, where the athlete continued training already under the supervision of another coach, Dmitry Gercheglo. But Natalya did not forget the one who gave her a “ticket to the big sport” - and gave him a car after receiving the Olympic title.
Career
The athlete became part of the St. Petersburg sports club Dynamo. The first major success of Natalia Vorobyova was the bronze medal at the European Championship in Belgrade in 2012. And in the same year, speaking at the London Olympics, the athlete, the youngest of all the participants, becomes a gold medalist. And having won ahead of schedule, having put the champion of 2008 in the semi-finals on the carpet in just 17 seconds, and in the finals he easily dealt with the five-time world champion Stanka Zlateva. This is the first Russian victory in freestyle wrestling among women.
In 2013, the sports community of St. Petersburg erected a monument to the girl, and in 2014, a tournament named after her was established in Irkutsk, and Natalya herself allocates money for the prizes. However, Vorobyova always generously shares her income for the development of children's and teenage sports in Russia.
Several times, the athlete took part in television programs, delighting her fans with her versatility. She became a real star of the program "Big Race 2014", several times appeared in the morning program "Good Morning". Natalia does not leave her sports career, performs at competitions in various countries and is the current instructor in the Russian Guard, with the rank of senior lieutenant.
