Any country with access to the sea, in order to protect its borders and national interests, must have not only a land army, but also a navy. A strong modern fleet is an indicator of the level of development, capabilities and significance of the state. Other countries reckon with such a country. And who now has the strongest fleet?

U.S. Navy Strength Leader
Currently, the United States has the most powerful fleet. During the Cold War, the navy of the USSR approached the American in strength (and in some classes of warships it even surpassed it). And after the collapse of the USSR and many years of subsequent economic difficulties, the Russian fleet, the successor of the Soviet Union, became much weaker than the American.
The US fleet includes about 600 warships. The main strike force is 10 aircraft carriers with a nuclear power plant, many dozens of missile cruisers, destroyers and frigates, as well as nuclear submarines of the Ohio, Los Angeles, Sivulf, Virginia types, some of which are armed with intercontinental ballistic and cruise missiles.
Now in the final stages of construction is the nuclear aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford. Planned to build at least one more of the same ship.
Not a single state in the world currently has a navy capable of equalizing in strength with the US Navy. For example, Great Britain, which relatively recently wore the proud unofficial nickname "mistress of the sea", now has only the only aircraft carrier "Invincible" to be decommissioned this year, several submarines, frigates and destroyers (excluding minesweepers and patrol boats). Compared to the once gigantic Royal Navi, the royal fleet that plowed all the seas and oceans, these are very minor forces.
