Richard Trevitik went down in history as an engine and steam locomotive modernizer. In fact, the scientist’s work has improved the internal combustion engine to the state in which he is accustomed to see now. Unfortunately, his name is little known. The scientist himself lived out his life in poverty. Society did not timely appreciate the great contribution Richard made to the development of technology.

Who is Richard Trevitik?
Richard Trevitik is a world-famous scientist and inventor who has made a significant contribution to science. It was he, a simple engineer, who created the very first bus and engine in the world. It was these discoveries that made Richard famous throughout the world. All this happened at the beginning of the nineteenth century, in England, at a time when technological progress was just beginning and the development of scientific activity was rapidly going up. The inventor's biography is quite interesting and instructive.
Family and childhood of Richard Trevitik
The famous English engineer was born on April 13th in 1771. Cornwall became his hometown. Trevitik is not the only child in the family. Richard was the youngest in the family, he had no brothers, but there were five more older sisters. From early childhood, parents noticed that their baby loves sports more than studying. Teachers at school did not particularly like Richard, because they believed that he was not responsible, a fidget and simply did not go to classes often, and if he was present, he violated discipline. Even the parents did not know that after all, Richard was not so far from studying as it seems not at first glance. In his heart settled love for such a complex subject as mathematics. Therefore, it can be said with accuracy that young Richard had a technical mentality, rather than a humanitarian one.
The young engineer was born in a real family of miners. Not surprisingly, from early childhood, he knew a lot about various technical devices that his parents often talked about. With age, all the information laid down over the years began to be systematized in his head. He began to advise many on technical issues and even acquired a certain high social position among the miners who respected his father, and therefore went to Richard with their questions.
Scientific activity of an engineer
A little later, after the young man gained some recognition among his friends, he took up his first project.
Initially, Richard began to create different engines and brought mining pumps to perfection, increasing their characteristics. He lived on this idea and dream.
The meaning of Richard's life was various inventions. However, the young man did not stop there. After all, he felt the taste of victory when he saw the first successes of his work, and he wanted to improve even more.
Naturally, further developments appeared further. The inventor did not stop there.
First bus
After some time, Richard began work on a steam engine for the bus, which was created in the early nineteenth century, namely, in 1801. This invention has become the progenitor of current buses.
The cunning invention quickly gained popularity and very soon the bus became a commonplace in society. In those days, people with great pleasure began to use this type of transport. This has made life easier for many ordinary people.
First steam locomotive
Already in 1804, Richard Trevitik began a project to build the first steam locomotive. Of course, he did it. He built the first steam train for the South Wales railway.
However, there were cons and flaws. The locomotive was too large and massive for those rails that were made of cast iron. And everyone considered this invention useless. After this failure, Richard decided to improve his invention, or rather, build a new one. He built a car that was even better than the old one. All defects were taken into account and corrected.
This machine was used not only in the standard mode and worked at low speed, but could calmly accelerate to thirty kilometers per hour.
It is important that the work that he did was not only useful to society, but also brought great pleasure to Richard himself. Indeed, in its own way, it is even creativity, which the inventor worked so hard.
