In the light of constant attachment does not happen. However, it was this man who was able to be the favorite of his contemporaries, and then fall into a terrible disgrace to them. Some literary scholars, having studied the biography of Thomas Moore, conclude that he was a man without principles, following what he was ordered by more dignified, or respected comrades. Not to believe in such a primitive interpretation - if everything was like that, then our hero would not be able to think of frank sacrilege towards connoisseurs of elegant literature.
Childhood
In May 1779, the family of the merchant Moore, who lived in Dublin, replenished - a son was born. They called it Thomas and brought up in the tradition of Catholicism. I must say that at that time Ireland was ruled by the English king, who did not favor the supporters of the Roman Church. Thomas's parents were not rich, in the circle of acquaintances there were only co-religionists, the same as themselves, the poor. Here the monarch was directly called a tyrant and cursed the apostates from Catholicism.
Dublin - the city where Thomas Moore was born
As a teenager, the boy began to write poetry. These were works in the then popular spirit of romanticism. Their first presentation to a wide readership took place in the journal Irish Anthology. The author at that time was 14 years old.
Youth
The old shopkeeper realized that his heir would not stand behind the counter. This nugget needed to be cut, and Thomas was sent to receive education at the University of Dublin. He pleased his parent when he returned home at the age of nineteen and already with a diploma, having graduated from an educational institution as an external student.

A brilliant boy during his studies managed to reduce his acquaintance with members of the political group "United Irish". Here, not only abused the king, but also talked about the experience of the French who managed to overthrow the Bourbons. Sometimes real Frenchmen came to visit revolutionaries, which inspired young patriots. It all ended sadly - in 1798 most of the underground were arrested. Moore scared and wrote pompous verses dedicated to the Prince of Wales, who worked hard to catch the rebels.
Ideological Throwing
At court, the creativity of the young man was highly appreciated. George III himself invited him to take the post of court poet. Father insisted that Tom accept the offer and make a career near the throne of the hated, but powerful ruler. Friends, among whom were comrades in the defeated organization, asked not to do this, because unpleasant facts could come up. The unfortunate Moore listened to the advice of the latter and in 1800 he joined the Admiralty. There quickly found a task for a beginner - he was sent on a business trip to Bermuda.
Returning to his homeland, Thomas Moore visited America. The United States at that time became the second example of a successful struggle against the monarchy after France. What the writer saw there greatly upset him. Legends told of his overseas lands at his home, in fact, there was no sense of freedom in these parts. In 1806, in Dublin, a disappointed traveler published a work scolding the United States.
Love
In 1911, our hero met the beautiful Edizabeth Dyke. She was an actress and, like him, an Irish and a patriot. The poet expressed feelings for this woman in romantic ballads and songs. The people liked such poetry, and the beloved agreed with the offer of marriage. In Moore's life, happy times came, the end of which came after the birth and death of the first child of the four Moors. Subsequently, this tragedy was repeated several times and the couple did not leave any heirs.
Grief brought the husband and wife closer. Supporting his beloved with beautiful rhymes, Thomas was not alien to society. He did not make himself a sufferer, which attracted those around him. Moore became friends with many famous people of his time, among whom was George Gordon Byron.
Best friend
George Gordon Byron. Artist Thomas Phillips
Lord Byron had just returned from a trip and managed to gain fame as a rebel. Everyone was wary of him with apprehension, except Thomas Moore. Their relationship began with a quarrel, but soon the friendly Irishman introduced the sullen wanderer to the bohemian and would be glad when their talent was put on a par. George's gratitude knew no bounds, he argued that, even being surrounded by a host of fans and admirers, he could only trust his best friend Thomas. It was to him that he left all his diaries and drafts, going to Greece.
In 1924, England was stunned by the mournful news - Byron died. Everyone was waiting for Moore to publish everything written by the hand of their idol, but he made a different decision. Thomas burned the legacy of his friend, not stinging to let the curious into the personal life of the deceased. After 11 years, Byron's biography will be released from his pen.
