Biography
Timothy Dalton was born March 21, 1946 in Wales, UK. My father was the captain of the intelligence service during the Second World War, and then retired to the reserve. Mother was a housewife and raised her son. The boy studied at Herbert Grammar School and dreamed of a pilot career. The theater never interested the future actor, but at the age of 16 he got the role of Hamlet in the play of W. Shakespeare in a school production. The success of the play changed Timothy's dreams. He decided that he wanted to study acting. After leaving school in 1964, the actor graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. At the same time plays at the Michael Croft National Youth Theater. The first role on the professional stage, the actor got in the play "Shakespeare's Coriolanus", followed by roles in the performances of "Richard the Third", "The Doctor before the Dilemma" and "St. John". After graduating from the Academy, the actor entered the Bermingen Repertory Theater.
Career
In 1966, Timothy first appeared on television in the play "Troilus and Cressida." Two years later, the actor received the first major role in the historical drama "The Lion in Winter". After this work, Dalton received recognition and invitation from European directors. In the 70s, he actively starred in Italian and Spanish films, participated in historical television shows and played in the theater.
The first American film was the musical Sextet in 1978.
The 80s only strengthened the artist’s popularity, films with his participation are released every year. British television in 1983 released the television series "Jane Air", where Dalton starred Edward Rochester, who became the pinnacle of his career and so loved by Russian viewers. In 1987, the actor plays the James Bond super-agent in the movie “Sparks from the Eyes, ” giving his hero an aristocratic elegance. After a couple of years, the actor again plays Bond in the movie "License to kill." He became the fourth performer of this role.
In the 90s, Dalton continued to shine on the screens in the series Scarlett, a continuation of the famous film Gone With the Wind, detective Substituted, fantasy Rocketeer, the mini-series Trap, and the historical drama Royal Whore.
