Childhood and youth
For professional historians and writers who write works on the affairs of bygone days, the Veles Book is still the subject of controversy and scandals. Alexander Asov became interested in the history of the ancient Slavs in the late 80s. By that time, the censorship framework had noticeably expanded and journalists had freedom for their research. To predict the future of their people, it is necessary to assess the causes of events that occurred in the distant past. Alexander thoroughly took up translations of ancient texts that survived until the middle of the 20th century.
A future researcher of ancient texts was born on June 29, 1964 in an ordinary Soviet family. At that time, parents lived in the village of Sokolskoye, Ivanovo Region. My father worked as a technologist in a brick factory. Mother worked as a teacher in kindergarten. The boy learned to read early and began to show interest in historical works. A few years later, the head of the family was transferred to the famous city of Gorokhovets in the Vladimir region. Here, Alexander graduated from high school and decided to graduate at the Physics Department of Moscow State University.
Literary activity
Having received a diploma, Asov entered graduate school and graduated in 1991. Alexander was engaged in research at the Institute of Physics of the Sea and Land Waters. By this time, fundamental changes had taken place in the country, and the young scientist could not find classes in his specialty. Having a thorough theoretical background, Asov got a job as a literary officer in the editorial board of the journal Science and Religion. As part of his job duties, he systematically engaged in the translation of the Veles Book into modern Russian. The magazine published articles and comments on this topic.
Asov’s career as a researcher developed quite successfully. The first edition of the book caused a stir among specialists involved in historical topics. Honorable speeches and harsh criticism were addressed to the author. The next book was called Gamayun Bird Songs. And again she was at the center of discussions and debates. A popular Russian satirist Mikhail Zadornov became interested in the works of the author. Visiting Asov is a famous traveler and explorer Vitaliy Sundakov.
