Alan Anthony Sylvestry is an American composer. He is the author of music for famous films and series: “A Novel with a Stone”, “Back to the Future”, “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”, “Outcast”, “Van Helsing”, “Avengers: Final”. Winner of the Grammy Award, nominee for the award: Oscar, Golden Globe and Saturn.

Alan started playing music early. Already at the age of three, he mastered playing the drums. Later he began to learn to play the guitar, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon and for some time performed in a school brass band.
As a child, Alan did not think about making music his profession. He was fond of baseball and wanted to pursue a sports career. But by the end of school he realized that music was his real vocation, he would not do anything else.
To date, Alan has been involved in creating music for one hundred and twenty films and television projects. He is one of the most successful and famous composers whose career is inextricably linked with cinema.
Prizes and nominations
For music for the films "Predator", "Back to the Future 3" and "Van Helsing" Silvestri received the Saturn Award. For the same prize, he was nominated for music for the projects: “The First Avenger”, “Polar Express”, “Contact”, “Forrest Gump”, “Death to Her Face”, “Abyss”, “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”, “Back to the future".
At the Oscars, Silvestri was nominated for the soundtrack for the films Forrest Gump and Polar Express.
Alan won the Golden Globe Award nomination for musical accompaniment to the song from the movie Polar Express and for the soundtrack for the movie Forrest Gump.
Sylvestry received the Grammy Award for best song for the movie The Polar Express. He also became a Grammy nominee for the movie soundtracks: Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Back to the Future.

The future composer was born in the spring of 1950 in the United States.
Alan became interested in music in early childhood, having learned to play the drums. In school, he began performing in a brass band, and later in a musical group created with friends. In high school, Alan no longer doubted that his future life would be connected exclusively with music.
Having completed primary education, Alan continued his studies at Berklee College of Music. Then he went to Las Vegas, where he performed in a group with Wayne Cochran.
Continue his musical career, Alan decided in Hollywood. At first, he could not find a suitable job. All his written works were rejected by directors and producers. For several years, Alan composed music for low-budget paintings. Then he went on television, where he began to write musical compositions for series.
In the early 1980s, he met Robert Zemeckis. This meeting was a turning point in the fate and career of Alan. Zemeckis at that time was in search of a composer for his new film, "A Novel with a Stone." He really liked the rhythmic works of Sylvestry. Soon, Alan was contracted to work on the project.
From that moment on, Silvestri’s career as a composer writing music for films began to skyrocket.
Today he is one of the leading musicians with whom many famous directors work.
