Sergey Polin is a Ukrainian historian, a specialist in archaeological excavations conducted in the steppe regions of Ukraine. This is the author of works dedicated to the world famous Scythian royal mound Gaimanova Grave.

A family. Education. Work
Polin Sergey Vasilievich was born in 1952 in Kiev, the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. His mother and father were Soviet soldiers.
At the end of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 1990, Pauline received the title of candidate of sciences, defending a dissertation on a historical topic about the inhabitants of the northern Black Sea steppes in the third and second centuries BC. Since 1993, Sergey Vasilievich has been a senior researcher at the Institute of Archeology of the NAS of Ukraine. At 58, Pauline is a corresponding member of the famous German Archaeological Institute (from the German Deutsches Archäologisches Institut) in Berlin, which is the oldest and largest in the world in the field of archaeological and scientific research.
Sergei Vasilyevich Polin is a specialist in the field of archaeological sites of Scythian and Early Sarmatian culture, his contribution to the history of antiquity is invaluable. More than 40 years of life, Pauline has been excavating and exploring mounds of various times in the steppes of Ukraine. During the excavation, it covers the territory of a number of Ukrainian regions starting from Zaporozhye and moving to the north-west with the coverage of the Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Cherkasy and other areas (the territorial scope of the excavations: from the Dnieper to the borders with Russia).
Scientific works
Throughout his life, Pauline has repeatedly led archaeological expeditions organized to explore the ancient mounds, burials and objects in them. Engaged in the study and excavation of the Scythian royal mounds and devoting his whole life to this, Pauline wrote several solid scientific works on the subject of his research.

Sergei Vasilievich presented his monographs to a number of Russian museums: the Scientific and Methodological Center for Archeology of the Southern Federal University, the Rostov Regional Museum of Local Lore, the Historical, Archeological and Paleontological Museum - Reserve of the city of Azov, the Tanais Historical and Archaeological Museum - open-air reserve.
