“Yandex knocked a stool out from under the feet of Channel One” - similar headlines began to appear on the Internet in April 2012. Indeed, Internet resources have become more popular than even central television. If over the past year Yandex has not inferior in attendance per day, and then surpassed the country's main channel, then there are a number of good reasons for this. Perhaps the channel management has something to think about and take into account some of the wishes of the consumer.
The first argument in favor of Internet resources is a “flexible schedule.” Yandex visitor watches online news, programs and films, regardless of the schedule. I did not have time to see the necessary report at 15-00 - I will look at it at 15-30. Of course, this is an important drawback of any channel, but nothing can be done about it. However, there are many other things that a modern user of television and the Internet is guided by.
An important plus of Yandex is the lack of intrusive advertising. If it is present on any site, the user can simply close the site and look for information / watch a movie in another place, or simply turn it off. In any case, a person is not obliged to forcibly watch the "legitimate" 5-7 minutes of advertising for bouillon cubes, tampons and chocolate bars.
The consumer of information over the past ten years has developed a certain stereotype - "I do not watch Channel One, because all the news is custom-made." So the simple layman thinks, “clicking” the remote control. The average user is looking for alternative information on any issue, the interpretation of events within the framework of the state broadcast is no longer satisfied. Perhaps the Soviet past is affecting the media. Then it was said what was allowed, but where is the guarantee that something has changed in this regard.
One of the most important aspects on the scale in favor of Yandex in front of Channel One is the "wide range". “Yandex - there is everything” is more than a slogan, it is almost 100% true. In Yandex, you can at any time and in the required volume find any information on a matter of interest. Television cannot provide such a function yet.
Plus, Channel One is losing a young viewer. A teenager is not at all interested in watching news, hackneyed talk shows and films already watched several times interspersed with advertising 8-10 times a day. There are few spectacular films on the First Channel, there are almost no exciting programs, and most of the people watch the news either in the background or paying tribute to the habit.
Ultimately, Channel One loses to Yandex with a score of 1: 0, because lags behind the popular Internet resource in many ways. Sooner or later, this was to happen, given the almost universal computerization and “Internetization”.
