As a boy, Valentin Pluchek wandered around the country as a street child. So he ended up in an orphanage. After that, his interest in art was manifested. Infected with Mayakovsky’s poetry, Pluchek chose the profession of actor and theater director for himself. The creative work of Valentin Nikolaevich is included in the "golden fund" of domestic theatrical art.

From the biography of Valentin Nikolaevich Pluchek
The future famous theater director was born in Moscow on August 22 (in a new style - September 4) in 1909. His cousin Peter Brooke was a theater director. The grandfather of Brook and Pluchek was once one of the most prominent architects of Dvinsk (now Daugavpils).
In childhood, Pluchek did not think about the career of an actor and director. He was interested in the theater last: the child lost his father early and did not find a common language with his mother’s new husband. Pluchek got together with homeless children and left the house. In the end, he ended up in an orphanage.
Valentin Nikolaevich, telling about himself, admitted that in childhood he manifested a variety of creative abilities. First of all, he became interested in art. In subsequent years, Mayakovsky and Meyerhold became his idols.
