Oil or wood oil, as the name implies, is used in oil lamps. And then, the oil that was used in the sacrament of Blessed Sacrifice is forbidden to use in lamps and especially to pour it or mix with other liquids. Such oil can be used like holy water with the difference that they cannot be sprinkled on the premises. Oil should also be used by anointing the human body to heal from diseases. But one must always remember that it is not oil that heals, but God according to the faith of the prayer. If a person is healthy, then after the morning prayer, you can crosswise anoint the area of the heart and forehead with oil.
2
There is oil sanctified on the relics of the saints of God and their icons. Such an oil is a reminder of the shrine, before which a person prayed. Such oil can be applied to the human body or sore spots. Prayer should be read to that saint on whose relics or icon it is sanctified, but you can read the prayer of Our Father
or contact the Blessed Virgin Mary. If a person does not know any prayers, it is not forbidden to pray in his own words, it is important that the prayer be performed with zeal and, of course, with faith.
3
The oil is stored in a special bowl sold in stores at the Temples or in a clean bottle, in a place suitable for the shrine. Cannot be stored together with items not related to church attributes. For example: along with cosmetics, in a home medicine cabinet. Proper place for oil, next to the icons. Oil is not required to be refrigerated; if stored properly, the oil retains freshness and transparency for a long time.
4
Never buy oil outside church shops and stores. Regardless of how it is called and what its origin is. it is considered sanctified only after the sacrament of the blessing of God, consecration on the relics, etc. Uninitiated, only lamp oil is allowed for use. There is a rule that oil cannot be thrown away. If the lamp oil has fallen into disrepair, it is better to pour it into running water.
