Leading artist of the academic drama theater named after A.S. Pushkin in North Palmyra, Sergei Parshin today is at the peak of his creative career, which is equally focused on the stage and on the set. All his characters are always distinguished by charming softness and heart charm, which makes even the villains in his performance very attractive.
Biography and career of Sergei Ivanovich Parshin
May 28, 1952 in Kohtla-Järve (Estonia), a future talented actor was born in the family of a military man. As a child, Sergei paid more attention to physical education and sports, and therefore the poem read brilliantly at school became a real startup in the creative profession. After all, the class teacher, along with a guest teacher from the theater studio, insisted that it was an acting career that became a decisive life priority for a talented young man.
After receiving a certificate of secondary education, Sergei Parshin, instead of a planned admission to a sports college, began his studies at LGITMiK (course of Irina Meyerhold and Vasily Merkuryev). After graduating from the legendary university, the aspiring actor joined the Alexandrinsky Theater, where he continues to go on stage until now.
Currently, over the creative shoulders of the People’s Artist, there are already more than eight dozen theater roles. And the first success in this field came to Parshin after Truffaldino's brilliantly played role in the play "Green Bird", when the theater community appreciated the artistic abilities of the aspiring actor. And the versatile artistic talent of Sergei Parshin was awarded two Golden Soffit awards (productions of The Examiner and Izotov) and the State Prize of the Russian Federation (production of The Examiner).
The cinematic debut of the People’s Artist of Russia took place in 1973 with the episodic role of the Musician in the film "Smart Things". And already in 1980 he came to his first success in this role, when Sergei Parshin, in the role of His Excellency Prince Alexander Danilovich Menshikov, appeared in a spectator court in the sensational historical series "Young Russia". Currently, his filmography is filled with more than fifty films, among which the greatest interest was caused by his characters in the film projects Winter Cherry (1985), Mirror for the Hero (1987), June 22, at exactly 4 o’clock (1992), “Streets of Broken Lights” (1997), “Death of an Empire” (2004), “Shadow Boxing” (2005), “Labyrinths” (2017), “One Life for Two” (2018).
