Striker career began in the system of junior and youth teams of CSKA. From 2006 to 2008, the athlete gained experience, gained knowledge and subsequently with his game attracted the attention of breeders from Washington.
In 2008, after the “capital” drafted the striker, Kugryshev went to North America. His first team was a club from the Quebec junior league “Quebec Rempards”. Forward, the team played two seasons, but did not receive an invitation to any club from the NHL. However, creativity in the possession of the puck, the attacking manner of the player could not fail to attract the attention of overseas experts. In the 2008–2009 season, Dmitry received the prize of the best attacking newcomer to the Quebec League hockey player Michelle Bergeron Trophy.
In 2010-2011, Dmitry Kugryshev moved to the United States, where he played in the second most important hockey league in North America - the AHL. It is noteworthy that in one season the striker went on the ice as part of two different teams at once: “Hershey Bears” and “South Carolina Stingrays”.
Despite the great work done, Kugryshev did not achieve success in his North American career. In 2011, he was forced to return to Russia.
