The program of the 23rd Kinotavr 2012 Open Russian Film Festival, which took place in Sochi from June 3 to 10, is in the public domain. The first winner of the Kinotavr is Karen Shakhnazarov.
This year the jury of the festival included actress Vera Glagoleva, as well as directors Alexander Kott (Gromozeka), Alexei Fedorchenko (Oatmeal), Anna Melikyan (Mermaid), Nikolai Khomeriki (Tale of the Darkness), Bakur Bakuradze (“The Hunter.”) The chairman of the jury is Vladimir Khotinenko.
14 films were rated. This is the “Atonement” by Alexander Proshkin, “Kokoko” by Avdotya Smirnova, “Convoy” by Alexei Mizgirev, “I will be there” by Pavel Ruminov, “Live” by Vasily Sigarev, “Teacher’s Day” by Sergey Mokritsky, “This is what happens to me” by Viktor Shamirov, “I Don't Love You” by Alexander Rastorguev and Pavel Kostomarov, “Until Night Separates” Boris Khlebnikov, “The Empty House” by Nurbek Egen, “Stories” by Mikhail Segal, “The White Moor or Three Stories about My Neighbors” by Dmitry Fix. Also debut films were announced: "For Marx
."Svetlana Baskova and" Daughter "of Natalia Nazarova and Alexander Kasatkin.
The awards at the festival were as follows:
- the best film: "I Will Be Near" by Pavel Ruminov;
- The best direction: "Live" by Vasily Sigarev;
- Best female role: Yana Troyanova, Anna Mikhalkova from Kokoko Avdotya Smirnova;
- best male role: Azamat Nigmanov from the film "Convoy" by Alexei Mizgirev;
- best cinematography: Alisher Hamidkhodzhaev from the film "Live" by Vasily Sigarev;
- special jury diploma "For the unbearable lightness of being": Victoria Shevtsova from "I Don't Love You" by Alexander Rastorguev and Pavel Kostomarov;
- The best debut: "Daughter" of Natalia Nazarova and Alexander Kasatkin;
- The main prize of the Guild of film critics and film critics: "Live" by Vasily Sigarev;
- Special diploma of the Guild of film critics and film critics: "Stories" by Mikhail Segal;
- G. Gorin Prize for the best scenario: "Stories" by Mikhail Segal;
- A prize named after M. Tariverdiev for the best music for the film: “Convoy” by Alexey Mizgirev;
- prize in the competition "Short meter": "Feet-atavism" directed by Mikhail Mestetskiy.
The first film shown as part of the Kinotavr 2012 was Boris Khlebnikov's Till the Night Tears apart.
At the closing ceremony of the film festival, the film "Steel Butterfly" by Renat Davletyarov was shown, speaking not only as a producer (his usual role), but also as a director. The members of the selection committee very highly appreciated his work, noting impeccable acting and a good script.
