By tradition, only Russian-language films "competed". The creators of the film "Feet - Atavism" (director - M. Mestetsky) received prizes in three categories at once. Director Taisiya Igumentseva received the Festival Diploma with the wording "For author's courage and non-conformism" for the film "Road to", also this work was awarded a special prize from the Future Shorts program.

Another diploma, this time, “For a sense of style and cinematic culture, ” was awarded to Ivan Shakhnazarov for his work entitled “Author's Method”. The special prize of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia went to Ilya Kazankov for the film "Boys".

Mikhail Segal presented at the Kinotavr his film Stories. This is a mysterious story about how a manuscript of a writer that got into the publishing house affects the life of the people who read it. Cinema is divided into four parts - by the number of stories, and each story in the film is a separate genre, from comedy to thriller. This unusual work was awarded in the nomination "Best Screenplay" and was awarded a diploma by the Guild of Film Critics and Film Critics of the Russian Federation "White Elephant".

A special diploma of the jury of the Kinotavr "For the Unbearable Lightness of Being" went to Victoria Shevtsova for her work in the film "I Don't Love You" (directed by P. Kostomarov and A. Rastorguev).

The best music, according to the jury, was played in the film "Convoy" (composer - A. Manotskov), the play of A. Nigmanov in it was also noted - he received a statuette "For Best Actor".

The prize for best actress was immediately received by two actresses - Anna Mikhalkova and Yana Troyanova, they played the main roles in Avdotya Smirnova's film "Kokoko".

The jury recognized the best debut of the festival as the film “Daughter” - a drama from directors A. Kasatkin and N. Nazarova.

Finally, the main award of the 23rd Open Russian Film Festival "Kinotavr" was awarded to director Pavel Ruminov, the actors and the entire crew of the film "I Will Be Near."
