Single father
The term “single father” is not spelled out in Russian law. But as a result of the deprivation of the parental rights of the mother of the child, her death, a long stay in a medical clinic or in another case of her prolonged absence and leaving the child (children) in the care of the father, the latter is entitled to all benefits paid to single mothers.
Legally, a single father is only a widower man. And in the case when a dishonest mother left her family and children, from the point of view of the law, she exists and has legal force, and she is listed legally in the birth certificate of the child. In this case, the father cannot be considered a loner. In this situation, a man will have to prove his status as a single father, by involving the guardianship authorities or through the courts. Only after that, having the appropriate package of documents in hand, will the man be legally recognized as a single father, who is entitled to all benefits and benefits, as a single parent.
Benefits under the Labor Code of the Russian Federation for single fathers
If a man has all the necessary documents in his hands, legally confirming his status as a single father, he is entitled to maternity leave and allowance for a child up to one and a half years. To make this payment, the father must contact the administration at the place of his work. Leave to care for a child (children) can be used by a single father in whole or in part. On maternity leave, a man can work part-time, part-time, or at home. In this case, all due payments and benefits are saved. Engaged by the employer in work on holidays and weekends, as well as in overtime work and night shifts, a single father can only with his own consent. If a single father brings up a disabled child, then he is entitled to an additional four days off each month paid by the employer.
