The report is one of the many types of scientific or educational activities. Often a report refers to an article for a conference or an abstract, but in any case, they are all built on approximately the same model. The problem is that nobody wants to do boring research, and few know how to correctly choose a topic.

When choosing a topic for the report, one must proceed from the circumstances.
Often, teachers or teachers give a ready-made list of topics from which you need to choose the one that you prefer. If you have a choice of several topics that you could take into work, then take one that will not only be easier to work with, but also more productive. Pay attention to the wording: do not grab the topic if it covers the object and subject of research too broadly, without giving the opportunity for careful study. For example, the topic “The behavior of Ural squirrels in winter” is much better than “Nature of the Urals”.
Of course, proceed from what you are most interested in. And if none of the proposed list of topics attracts you, then take a topic with the most specific wording, and one on which there is a lot of scientific literature.
If you are completely free to choose the topic of the report, then it is better to choose and formulate it with your supervisor. For example, you can love chocolate, but the topic "Chocolate in my life" does not bear any scientific interest. But “The History and Prospects for the Production of Chocolate in My City” is already much more interesting and productive.
The main thing is to believe that any of your interest can be considered from a scientific point of view, only you need to approach this correctly.
A very important condition is the correct wording of the topic. The report implies various forms of protection: simply speaking at a lesson or seminar without questions from the audience, defense with justification of the relevance of the topic and questions, etc. For example, in the second option, you need to choose a topic that will allow you to logically build the report itself, presentation and answers to questions. And if you take the topic "The influence of pink on the behavior of hamsters, " and talk about its effect on different types of rodents, then your topic will play a trick on you.
And finally, even before choosing a topic, understand whether you need any further perspective, whether you will be engaged in research in the future. If yes, then initially select a large object of study, and then approach it from a certain side, so that next time you will approach from another and give a complete picture. For example, you are interested in the productivity of the secretary-assistant in different weather conditions. First, highlight the features of its work in the heat when the air conditioner is turned off, and next time you can write a report on its work in the winter with the batteries turned off.
