Of all the disasters to which Russians are exposed, floods are the most common. A catastrophe often takes on terrifying proportions, but securing your own life is quite simple: you need to prepare for natural disasters in advance.

Instruction manual
1
The only way to protect yourself from flooding is to not live in flooded areas. In the Ministry of Emergencies, for example, they report that more than 60% of potentially dangerous territories are inhabited and built up with houses. Therefore, before you start construction or agree to a purchase, be sure to make sure that the surrounding area is not at risk. Given the nature of the disaster, there is no other way to completely protect yourself.
2
If you still fall into the risk zone, the first thing you need to do is to collect all the important documents in a waterproof bag and put in an easily accessible place. It makes sense at all to remove all the valuable from the floor. It is imperative to have at least a few prepared servings of dry rations and deferred money.
3
Make sure that each member of your family knows how to turn off electricity (shorted circuits in the water are dangerous like nothing else) and gas; that everyone is aware of the collection points for evacuation (information can be obtained from local authorities).
4
Equip easy access to the roof. A ladder is not the best choice, as with a strong course, it can reset. It is most reliable to fix the steps directly on the walls of the house, or to think out the way from the inside of the room.
5
Get a swimming tool. Consider this: a fishing boat will take up a lot of space, but it will always be ready for use. In the event of a sudden flood, there will simply not be time to prepare an inflatable raft (especially since an electric pump may be needed).
6
Explore the area. You need to know all the hills and just tall objects (even a tree house can turn out to be saving). Clearly imagine the behavior of the river: why flooding could have occurred, how long it would last, and in which direction the current is going. The more you know, the more meaningful decisions you can make at a critical moment (for example, you do not have to believe the rumors about the duration of the flood).
