Instruction manual

As a rule, a set for making casts is gypsum powder, accessories and various types of frames into which the finished cast is then placed. If you want to make a regular cast, then you need to knead the gypsum powder with water to the desired consistency, make a “cake” about a centimeter thick and gently press the gypsum to the baby's arms or legs. After the mass hardens, it can be placed in a frame.

More complex sets suggest making a plaster copy of the handles or legs. To do this, according to the instructions, a special gel is diluted, which comes in the kit, then the arms and legs are alternately lowered into it. Many mothers are advised to carry out such manipulations when the baby is sleeping soundly. The handle or leg must be held for 20 seconds to a minute. When the gel hardens, carefully remove the handle / leg from the resulting mold. This should be done very carefully, as the gel breaks easily. Then, a gypsum solution is added to the obtained form, which is prepared according to the instructions and wait until it hardens. If desired, the finished casts can be painted with paint and framed.

Some mothers do not buy ready-made sets for casts, but acquire white clay for children's creativity. Dilute it with water to the consistency of plasticine and make casts of pens and legs from this natural material. Finished prints can also be painted, put in a frame with tags from the hospital and photos of the baby.
