Shoulder straps are one of the insignia in the armies of the world, including the Russian army. The combined arms order is as follows: - soldiers and sailors do not have any insignia on uniform;
- the sergeant staff has insignia in the form of cloth galloons, the so-called "bastards";
- warrant officers and warrant officers have insignia in the form of small stars located vertically;
- junior officers have shoulder straps with one vertically located strip, the so-called “clearance” and small metal stars;
- senior officers have two lumens and larger stars;
- the senior officers do not have gaps on shoulder straps; large stars are located vertically and are not attached to shoulder straps, but are embroidered on them;
- The Marshal of the Russian Federation has one large embroidered star and the coat of arms of Russia.
