The Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) opened on June 21, 2012 at the Oktyabr cinema by showing Roman Prygunov's "Duhless". The festival will run until June 30th.
The jury of the main competition is as follows: directors Hector Babenko (Hector Babenco), Yavor Girdev and Sergey Loban; director, screenwriter and actor Jean-Marc Barr and producer Adriana Chiesa De Palma.
The final version of the main competition MIFF-2012 includes 17 films. It is worth noting that the films of Russian directors as many as 3 are “The Gulf Stream under the Iceberg” by Evgeny Pashkevich, “Horde” by Andrei Proshkin and “The Last Tale of Rita” by Renata Litvinova.

At the closing ceremony of the Moscow International Film Festival, Christophe Honoré’s melodrama Les Belien-Amis will be shown.
"Russian programs of the 34th MIFF" opened on June 22. Films such as "Fan" by Vitaly Melnikov, "Atonement" by Alexander Proshkin, "Kokoko" Avdotya Smirnova, "Captains" Gennady Ostrovsky and others were presented.
It is worth noting that the producers of the film “Until Night Separates” Boris Khlebnikov literally at the last moment recalled the picture. Incidentally, this film was supposed to close the "Russian Programs" MIFF.
On June 23, the 13-1 “Media Forum" of the Moscow International Film Festival began at the Ekaterina Culture Fund. The theme is "Immersion in the country of tactile cinema." The forum will last until August 19.
From June 25 to 27, Moscow Business Square will be held as part of the festival, where professionals from leading film companies of the Old World will participate. The International Film Forum of the Baltic States, Georgia and the CIS - Eurasia Film Meetings - began its work on June 23.
The venue for the opening of the festival was traditionally the Pushkinsky movie theater, but this year the opening ceremony of the Moscow International Film Festival was held at the Oktyabr movie theater, since it was not possible to agree on the rental of Pushkinsky. "Russian programs" were held at the Cinema House, press shows - in the cinema "Artistic". The new venue is the summer cinema "Pioneer", which is in Gorky Central Park of Culture and Arts.
According to Ekho Moskvy radio station, director Olga Darfi, who participated in the opening ceremony of the Moscow International Film Festival, walked along the path of the film festival in a mask of Pussy Riot band members. So she acted out of solidarity with the group members - as a sign of their support.
