In different Slavic countries, this holiday falls on different dates. In the Czech Republic, it is celebrated on July 5, in Bulgaria on May 24. In Russia, it is also celebrated on May 24 since 1986. However, in our country, the celebration can last several days (that's why they talk about the days of Slavic culture). Each year, the "capital" is selected for its holding. And in each of the city centers, dates can be set. As a rule, the days of Slavic culture begin about a week before May 24 and end, respectively, on the day of remembrance of the saints. In some cities, they can celebrate a whole month.

Since the festival is a cultural one, libraries, museums that prepare special exhibitions and various events actively participate in it. In educational institutions, they also remember Saints Cyril and Methodius, for example, at the philological faculties this becomes an annual tradition. We owe these historical figures our own writing, which is why poetry readings are often arranged at the end of May. At the same time, actors and musicians give performances. Often these days express solidarity with other Slavic peoples.

The church also takes an active part in the celebration. In honor of the enlightened saints, temples and monuments are opened. The churches held solemn services. Cyril and Methodius are revered not only as creators of writing, but also as distributors of the Christian faith. They had dignities and traveled to Europe for missionary purposes. By the way, they received the names Cyril and Methodius after being tonsured as monks, in the world they were called Konstantin and Mikhail. Nowadays, the issue of combining religious and secular holidays is actively debated, but the enlightened brothers nevertheless played a significant role in the history of our state.
