From the day of the publication of the first novel by Joan Kathleen Rowling "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" on June 30, 1997 and for a long 10 years, the real "potteromania" has gripped the world. However, books on the adventures of the young wizard and his struggle with the powerful villain Volan de Mort still arouse the lively interest of the young and adult reader. In total, the Harry Potter series includes 7 books dedicated to the seven years of his studies at Hogwarts, a unique school of witchcraft and wizardry.

Instruction manual
1
Harry Potter novels incorporated several genres at once, including fantasy and family reading, a detective story and a melodrama. According to Joan Rowling herself, the main theme of the novels is death, despite the fact that initially they were perceived as children's fairy tales.
2
The first book in the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone series is really the closest thing to a fairy tale. From it you can learn about the origin of Harry, his not too happy childhood in the family of the Dursleys and the beginning of his studies at Hogwarts. On the pages of the book, Harry finds his best friends - the cocky and not-so-lucky Ron Weasley and the clever, organized by Hermione Granger. Here, too, the first adventures begin, which, fortunately, end safely.
3
An atmosphere of fear fills the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This time, Harry and his friends have to face a certain unknown force, which ultimately turned out to be an ominous basilisk living in the secret room of Hogwarts. Here, Harry, without first realizing it, penetrates the secrets of the past Voldemort, who appears before him in the guise of a teenager Tom Riddle.
4
The third book is called Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. In it, for the first time, Harry encounters terrifying dementors, sucking all the joy out of a person, saving him from the death of a hippogryph named Klyuvokryl and, most importantly, meeting his godfather Sirius Black. Unfortunately, Sirius, who spent 12 years on the basis of a false accusation in the terrible prison of Azkaban, is still considered a criminal and forced to hide from persecution.
5
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a story of growing up, first love and, unfortunately, the first real tragedy at Hogwarts. The resurrected Voldemort, with the help of magic, forces Harry to take part in the “Three Wizards Tournament”, in the final of which a deadly trap is prepared for the winner. However, contrary to the expectations of the dark lord, two win the tournament - Harry Potter and his lucky rival in love, the beautiful and noble Cedric Diggory. As a result, Cedric dies instead of Harry. The finale of the Goblet of Fire becomes a watershed for the entire series: from this moment on, it acquires a tragic connotation.
6
The subsequent Harry Potter novels are dedicated to the events of the Second War of the Wizards, which begins after the return of Voldemort. Before the readers goes the chain of deaths of their favorite characters. In the fifth book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Sirius Black dies. In the sixth - "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" - death takes away the director of Hogwarts himself - the wisest and most powerful Albus Dumbledore.
7
The final book of the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is dedicated to the decisive battle for Hogwarts, taking the lives of the noble werewolf Remus Lupine, his wife Nymphadora Tonks and one of Ron Fred Weasley’s brothers. In the final, Harry manages to destroy the dark lord. In the epilogue, the reader sees matured heroes - Harry, Ron and Hermione, escorting their children to study at Hogwarts.
