Yaak Yola - a very popular talented pop singer in the 70-80s. Born on June 26, 1950 in the town of Vildiani in Estonia. From childhood, the boy was fond of karting and music, he studied playing the flute and piano.
While studying at a music school, he became interested in the group The Beatles and even created his own rock band. For his love of freedom and commitment to rock music, he is expelled from the educational institution. From the age of 16, Yaak performed in various groups as a soloist and guitarist. At the same time, his first radio recordings appeared.
Creativity and career
1970 was marked by the victory of the performer in the Komsomol song contest, a year later - in the competition of young pop singers.
After being demobilized from the army, the singer created his own band Lainer. All this time he participates in various competitions, wins and becomes the most popular singer in Estonia. Composers stand in line to give their songs to Yaaku. Joala was not only a performer of songs, but also masterfully played many musical instruments. He also works in the Radar group, whose popularity goes far beyond Estonia.
In 1975, a young musician wins the famous competition of young performers in Sopot. He was even offered to work with British producers. But Jaak refuses - the “Iron Curtain” still operates in Estonia.
From that moment, the singer’s career became rapid. He was invited to collaborate with eminent Soviet composers: Tukhmanov, Zatsepin and Raymond Pauls. New songs appear that instantly become hits: "I draw, " "Love chooses us, " "I will pick up music." Jaak Yola is becoming very popular in the Soviet Union. He is constantly shown on the Central channels.
The musician acts in films as an actor. In 1979, he recorded songs for the film "June 31" and received a frantic success. Participates in the Song of the Year 1980. His songs are sung by the whole country.
In 1981, the singer was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Estonia. After the collapse of the USSR, Yaaka immediately stopped showing on Central Television, he settles in Tallinn. Since that time, the singer begins to teach at the music school, is engaged in production and social activities, spins young singers. The last time Yaak appeared on the scene in 1996 was in the trio of Tõnis Mägi, Joala and Ivo Lynn. Then he moves from the capital to the farm and departs from the music.
