Sam Hughen was born in a hippie family in 1980. The boy was born in a small rural settlement in Scotland. His birthday: April 30th. Sam was the second child in this family, he has an older brother. However, both boys eventually grew up without a father who divorced their mother when Sam was only three years old.
Facts from Sam Hewan's Biography
Sam's mother, named Christine, after the divorce, was forced to take up any work, only to feed herself and two sons. However, she was very drawn to art, she was attracted to painting. Sam obviously inherited his interest in creativity from his mother, although he chose not acting, but acting.
The early years of Sam and his brother passed in the Scottish village of Balmaclellan. In the first grades, the boy went to study at a school, which was located in a small town called New Galloway. However, at the age of twelve, Huang and his family moved to Edinburgh, where he went to receive education at James Gillespie's school. The boy did not stay long in this educational institution. While his mother took courses in painting, Sam was transferred to school with alternative ways of teaching children.
Sam began to show particular interest in stage art in his teenage years. He was engaged in a drama circle, although the teachers thought that the boy did not have much talent. Therefore, in school productions, Sam did not get the leading roles. By the time he graduated from school, the young man had already decided for himself that, in spite of everything, he would continue to receive an education in the field of art, and would also become a popular actor.
However, the first years after receiving a certificate of secondary education, Sam Hugen traveled to European cities and even lived for some time in America. During this period of time, he undertook any part-time job, but did not give up thoughts about his acting career.
Returning to his native country in 2000, Sam was able to pass all the selections, pass exams and enter the Royal Higher School of Drama and Theater Arts, which is located in Glasgow. In this educational institution, teachers, just like teachers in the school theater circle, did not distinguish Sam from the rest of the students. And this despite the fact that at that time, Huang was already a member of the Lyceum Youth Theater. However, everything changed when in 2002 the young actor got the main role in the production of one of the leading theaters in the country. After the performance was successful, teachers began to perceive Sam differently.
It is worth noting that the acting career of Sam Hugen is actively developing not only in the cinema, but also on the stage. Since 2001, the actor managed to work in various theaters, was a member of various acting troupes and tried on a variety of images on the stage. Among the performances in which Sam played, one can distinguish: "Whirlpool", "Hamlet", "Macbeth", "Amphibian", "Batman is alive", "King John".
Between 2010 and 2012, Sam Hughen repeatedly appeared on television in commercials. He became the face of Tennent's Lager brand, which produces light beer. The videos in which the artist participated, twice won the nomination as the best television advertisement. And in 2013, the actor took part in the filming of a video clip of a musician named Robbie Boyd. In the same year, Huang took patronage over the Youth Theater Arts Scotland (a community of Scottish youth theaters).
Despite working in the arts, Sam is interested in charity and sports. From adolescence, the actor is engaged in fencing, horse riding, triathlon and even mountaineering. He repeatedly participated in various sports marathons, including charity ones. In addition, Sam supports the Leukemia Foundation.
