early years
The girl was born in England in the spring of 1952. Her father worked as a builder in a large company, and her mother was engaged in household work. The work of his father involved constant moving, so the family very often changed their place of residence. After the birth of the daughter, the parents settled in the United States, where Fisher graduated from high school.
Creativity fascinated Francis from an early age. She had no doubt that sooner or later, she would definitely become a famous artist. Having received primary education, the girl got a job as a secretary of a small office and began to attend the theater studio, where she studied acting.
Francis' creative biography began in Abingdon, where she moved from Texas, deciding to start an independent life. There, for the first time, the girl entered the stage of the local theater, and soon she was already enrolled in the main cast of the troupe. Fisher worked on stage for more than ten years, but only in the 80s she began to try herself in cinema.
Film career
The beginning of the career of Francis in cinema was not very successful. Fisher played her first small role in the comedy film "Can She Bake a Cherry Pie." Then she starred in episodic roles in the series: Guiding Light, On the Doorstep of the Night, Days of Our Lives, Equalizer, Matlock.
In 1987, Fisher performed one of the roles in the thriller "Cool Kids Don't Dance." The picture completely failed at the box office and received the Golden Raspberry Award for the worst directorial work.
Two years later, Francis starred in the film "Lost Angels", where D. Sutherland became her partner on the set, and in the comedy "Pink Cadillac" with Clint Eastwood. Then the actress reappeared on the screens in television projects: "Young Riders", "Cruel City", "Law and Order." It was only in the early 90s that Fisher came to the first real success.
Clint Eastwood invited Francis to one of the central roles in his new film "Unforgiven." The film was a huge success with the audience and gathered a record box office. The picture was awarded the Oscar and became a real breakthrough in the acting career of Fisher.
The actress got the next starring role in the famous J. Cameron film "Titanic", where she played the role of Ruth Dewitt Buckeyter. “Titanic” at that time became the highest grossing picture, having collected more than two billion dollars at the box office and received eleven Oscars.
