In the list of popular Russian writers there are very funny characters. These include Venedikt Erofeev.
Childhood
According to data from open sources, Venedikt Vasilyevich Venediktov appeared in this world on October 24, 1938 in a large family of a railway worker. At that time, my father served as the head of the Chupa station in Karelia. The future writer was the fifth child in the house. From the very beginning, life did not spoil him. In those days they lived hard. Lack of provisions and clothing was felt constantly. Little Vienna had to carry things that remained of the older children. In addition to everything, the war began, and the Erofeevs were saved from hunger only by a garden.
In the biography of Venedikt Vasilyevich it is noted that the boy learned letters early and began to add words from them. Naturally, writing paper was not available, and he scratched something on newspaper scraps with a pencil stub. With sadness, it can be stated that in such indescribable conditions, Erofeev's creative career began. He constantly watched the neighbors live, for what reason they drink bitter, and what they are talking about after a modest snack. In the fall of 1945, Venya went to school with his brother. For two they had one briefcase.
Creativity and wanderings
Erofeev studied well at school and completed secondary education with a gold medal. At that time, there were privileges for medalists - Venedikt was accepted to the philology department of Moscow State University without exams. The freedom and temptations of a big city had a bad effect on a student from the province. In 1957, he was expelled from the second year for academic failure. However, between absenteeism and absenteeism, the young man was engaged in literary work. Erofeev got a job several times, but the result was always the same - he was fired for absenteeism and drinking.
From the height of the past years, it is difficult for an ignorant person to understand how, with such a way of life, Venedict could write his works. Some experts sadly say that you won’t drink talent. This is only partially true. Of the five finished works that are available to posterity, the novel “Moscow-Petushki” brought fame to the writer. The author himself called this text a poem in prose. It is important to note that this famous "poem" was accepted mainly by literary critics and colleagues in the pen.
