Biography
Jeremy Wade was born in 1956 in the English city of Ipswich, which stands on the Staur River. His parents were avid anglers, and Jeremy went fishing with them as a little boy. This lesson so fascinated him that he only did what he was talking about different fish.
Already at the age of sixteen, Jeremy joined the British Carp Research Group.
Wade received the appropriate education: he became a bachelor in zoology. When he was twenty-six years old, he read about exotic fishing on barbs, and could not resist the temptation - he went to India to look at this lesson and go fishing himself.
Since those about the expedition for him - just a job that is associated with some difficulties. But this is in his opinion, and many who have visited him in East Asia, on the Congo River, on the Amazon River and in Russia, say that these expeditions are very intense and associated with heavy loads. Moreover, in time these trips take about two or three months.
Distant Expeditions
Wade himself in these expeditions was infected with malaria, he was arrested for espionage, he survived the crash of an airplane. Not to mention river monsters, many of whom are ready to cripple if not to eat a daredevil.
To earn money for these trips, Jeremy changed a lot of classes, and each work brought him closer to his next trip. He worked as a PR consultant, translator, journalist, dishwasher and the like.
Ten years after the first expedition to India, the traveler accumulated so much interesting and exclusive material that would be enough for a whole book. And in collaboration with Paul Booth, Wade published the book "Down the Crazy River", which described the most vivid impressions of expeditions to the Congo and India.
Jeremy is sure that such work is a kind of creativity, and without inspiration and love for nature, such things cannot be done. You can trust him, because for a long time he organized expeditions at his own expense, and did not earn a dime on his dangerous occupation.
Later, in 2002, Jeremy began to host the program “Fishermen in the Jungle” on the BBC channel, and a few years later Animal Planet channel specially organized for him the program “River Monsters”, which is popular not only among fishermen, but also among those who never held a fishing rod in his hands.
