Childhood and youth
The propensity for organizational activity is given to man by nature. An informal leader is able to carry a certain group of people along and lead them to their intended goal. This goal, for the time being, is visible only to him. For many years Alexander Petrovich Barkashov has come up with ideas and projects for the modernization of public relations in Russia. This problem has matured and worsened by the end of the 80s of the last century. Organizations began to appear on the political field that formed fresh ideas and carried them to the masses.
The future founder of RNU was born on October 6, 1953 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in Moscow. My father worked as an electrician at Mosenergo. Mother was engaged in housework. The child grew up in a simple and austere setting. They didn’t shout at him, they didn’t play nonsense, but they accustomed to independent life. At school, Alexander studied well. He did not show special abilities to certain disciplines. Having received a matriculation certificate in 1971, he decided to limit himself to secondary education. Six months later, Barkashov was drafted into the armed forces.
Political activity
Returning from the army, Alexander got a job at the CHP. In his free time, he began to practice in the karate section. At the same time, he showed interest in political and public topics. In the early 80s, he became a member of the famous National Patriotic Front "Memory". The main point in the program of the front was the idea of restoring the monarchical system in the country. By that time, many citizens had already become disillusioned with the attractiveness of Soviet power, and were looking for a new moral support for themselves in life.
Barkashov, an energetic and purposeful person, decided to create a more effective organization to achieve his goals. In October 1990, he and a group of associates founded the movement "Russian National Unity." This movement had an active core. In many regions of the country, RNE branches appeared. In October 1993, when the White House on the embankment of the Moscow River was shot from tanks, Barkashov’s people were among the defenders. Alexander Petrovich himself was arrested, and spent almost a year in prison.
