The biography of the musician
Alexei Vitalievich Arkhipovsky was born on May 15, 1967 in the southern Russian city of Tuapse, on the Black Sea coast, in a family of ordinary workers. His father, Vitaliy Alekseevich, worked all his life at the shipbuilding enterprise as a welder, and his mother Lyubov Ilinichna was a teacher at school.
From early childhood, little Alex was drawn to music, finding all kinds of objects and tapping familiar rhythms with them. The first music teacher for the boy was his father, who played the accordion excellently and was even awarded an honorary diploma. Having mastered the accordion and then the accordion, Alexey Vitalyevich entered and graduated with honors from the music institute in the balalaika class, which allowed him to become a virtuoso of his craft. With the same skill playing several folk instruments, he more than once became the winner of various music competitions at a young age.
The beginning of a musical career
Having left for the Smolensk region, Alexey Vitalyevich falls into the Russian folk orchestra, but the young artist did not particularly like the performance of folk and classical music there. Arkhipovsky is trying to find any means for his experiments with tools. Having found their unique technique of playing the balalaika, the usual compositions acquired a new, unique sound in the hands of the master.
A new career ladder for Alexei Arkhipovsky begins after 10 years of his service in the orchestra. In 1997, the artist receives an invitation to the folk orchestra "Russia", under the direction of Lyudmila Zykina. After some time, having proved himself a fantastic musician, Arkhipovsky becomes the soloist of the ensemble. Having visited concert programs in many cities and countries, Alexey Vitalyevich leaves the collective, and since 2002 begins his solo career.
World fame
Presenting modern and folk music in an unusual performance, Alexey Arkhipovsky gained unprecedented fame and a huge number of fans around the world. Collaborating with Dmitry Malikov and Stas Namin, the artist took part in many music projects and festivals held in Western Europe and Asia. In 2009, he was invited to the opening of the world music contest "Eurovision", and a year later, to the opening of the Olympic Games.
