Childhood and youth
Alexander Bashlachev was born in Cherepovets on May 27, 1960. His father was a worker in a heat-power workshop, his mother worked as a chemistry teacher. In the family, Alexander's rum, the girl Lena grew up. Parents devoted a lot of time to work, and the children were often left alone.
Sasha began to read quite early, at the age of 3 he composed the first poem. The boy did not study at a music school; he himself refused classes. As a child, Sasha became interested in journalism, he was pleased to lead the process of collecting material for the school almanac, composed poems, and helped classmates write articles. In high school, Bashlachev became interested in prose, he composed a description of the everyday life of the ninth grader, for which he was nicknamed the chronicler.
Creative activity
After leaving school, Alexander tried to enter the University of Journalism in Leningrad, but unsuccessfully. He returned home and got a job as an artist at a metallurgical plant. During this period, his articles were published in the newspaper "Communist". In the evening, Bashlachev attended the school of a young journalist.
In 1978, Alexander was able to enter the University of Sverdlovsk. Studying was easy; he hardly attended lectures. During this period, Bashlachev wrote songs for the group "Rock-September".
After graduation, Alexander continued to work in the newspaper "Communist", but ideologically seasoned articles did not bring creative satisfaction. In 1984, Bashlachev quit the newspaper and went to Moscow.
In the capital, the poet visited Leonid Parfyonov, whom he was familiar with. Away Alexander met Artemy Troitsky, with whom he became friends. Later there were improvised concerts - “apartment houses”, at which Bashlachev performed songs of his own composition. Records scattered across the Union and made Alexander famous.
On the big stage, Bashlachev first performed in Leningrad in 1985 with Yuri Shevchuk. In the same year, Alexander moved to the northern capital and took an active part in the life of rock clubs. In 1987, Bashlachev was invited to participate in the filming of the film "Rock" (dir. Alexei Uchitel), but he refused.
At the rock festival for the song "Everything from the Screw", Alexander received the prize "Hope". The composition "The Time of the Bells" also became famous. In 1988, Alexander left for Moscow to give several concerts. All of them gathered a lot of spectators.
But employment did not save the musician from depression. Bashlachev spent the last hours at the apartment of Evgenia Kametskaya, his first wife. On the morning of February 17, 1988, she was informed that Bashlachev had jumped out of the window. Friends and relatives confirmed that Alexander could voluntarily die. Last year, Bashlachev almost did not get out of the creative crisis and suffered from loneliness, despite sociability.
