Abroad, Sergei Juran was nicknamed the "Russian tank." The style of play of the football striker was unique and more than once led him to victorious strikes. The fate of the football player was not easy. He was repeatedly chased by injuries. The state of health was the reason that forced Juran to end his career as a player and engage in coaching.
Sergey Nikolaevich Juran: facts from a biography
The future footballer was born in Lugansk on June 11, 1969. His family could not be called wealthy. Sergey studied poorly, often skipped classes at school. He liked to drive the ball in the yard. Mom could not stand the hobby of her son and insisted that he stop this "football madness."
To the rescue Sergey came an older brother. He secretly from his parents filed documents of Sergei in a sports boarding school, and then put his family in front of a fait accompli. At a sports school, the talents of Juran revealed very quickly. Already in 1985, a sixteen-year-old boy received an invitation to play in the club "Dawn". As a result, Sergey became the youngest player in the history of the club.
The beginning of a career in football
In 1987, a promising player was invited to Dynamo (Kiev). Here he defended the honor of the club for four years. The player managed to show very high results - he managed to score goals in six games in a row. The coach Valery Lobanovsky took a direct part in the education of the athlete. The years spent by Juran in Dynamo became the basis of his future sports achievements.
The road to the top of the career was difficult. For violation of the sports regime, the coach even sent Juran to the army “for re-education”. For two months, the young footballer learned to wrap footcloths, went in his outfits, and in short minutes of rest taught his colleagues how to play football.
Another serious test for Juran was an injury: in the spring of 1988, Seryogy injured his ankle. No one believed that Juran would be able to return to big football. However, a year later Sergey was back in service.
Sports achievements of Sergey Juran
In 1990, Juran as part of Dynamo Kyiv was already the champion of the USSR. In the same period, his career began in the national team of the country.
In 1991, Juran left Dynamo and went to Lisbon. Here he became one of the leading players of “Benfica”. For the style of his game, Sergei earned the nickname "Russian tank". Becoming the champion of Portugal, Juran moved to the “Port” and again won the league title.
In 1995, Juran became a Spartak player and made an undeniable contribution to the victory of this team. And then he committed an act that seemed inexplicable to many: Juran moved to the not-so-prestigious Millwall club and moved to the capital of Britain. The answer was simple: the football player went to London to be closer to his lover - her name was Lyudmila.
Soon, the results of Juran declined. He was often seen in bars. Motivation for the game has disappeared.
Cross on the player’s career put an injury: in one of the matches, Juran broke his frontal bone. Doctors forbade him to play. In 2001, Sergey hung his boots on a nail.
Currently, Sergei Juran is successfully coaching, from time to time moving from club to club. Behind him is the Graduate School of Coaches.
