The Soviet actress Anastasia Zueva is well remembered by those whose childhood was in the 80-90s. It was she who was that kind grandmother who appeared at the beginning of the legendary children's films of Alexander Rowe. Soviet children were impatiently waiting for the carved shutters to open and a storyteller would appear in them.

Biography: early years
Anastasia Platonovna Zueva was born on December 5, 1896 in the village of Spasskoye, near Venev, Tula Region. Her family was considered prosperous. At the age of five, she lost her father. Soon, the mother brought a new husband to the house - the gendarme colonel. And she gave two daughters, Anastasia and Elizabeth, to her sister's upbringing, so that they would not interfere with her new female happiness.
Aunt Zueva was the manager of the estate, she "cooked" in the cultural environment and introduced her nieces to this. Especially attracted to the arts Anastasia. Girls studied in one of the Tula gymnasiums.
Soon, aunt and nieces moved to Moscow. Soon, Anastasia decided to enter the theater school. At the show, she was so impressed by the teachers that they took her to study for free. A year later, Zueva moved to the Moscow Art Theater School. She was considered one of the most talented students in her course.
Career
Since 1924, Zueva began to play at the Moscow Art Theater. Her first work on the stage was the role of an old woman. Anastasia then barely turned 22 years old, but she was so convincing in her age role that Stanislavsky himself gave her a lot of compliments. And then he noted that to be her on stage an eternal old woman. The words of the famous master were prophetic.
Zueva was not afraid to play age-old heroines. So, she soon appeared on the scene in the role of Mother in the production of “Untilovsk”, and then played Matrena in the play “Resurrection”.
In 1932, Zueva played one of her legendary roles - the landowner Korobochka from Gogol’s Dead Souls. She reincarnated into it for more than half a century, until the end of her days.
In the same year, Zueva first played in a movie. She appeared in the movie Prosperity. Then came modest roles in a number of films, including:
- "The first glove";
- "Bright Way";
- "Native fields";
- "Groom from the other world";
- "The Road to Calvary".
Since 1950, the actress took part in the dubbing of many Soviet cartoons. So, the old woman in her Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish speaks in her voice, the tortoise tortoise in The Adventures of Pinocchio.

In 1964, Zueva played the storyteller in Morozko by Alexander Rowe. This character was so loved by the audience that the director decided to include him in other tales. Soon, Anastasia began to lead the program "Visiting a fairy tale." In it, she appeared before the audience in the beloved image of a good storyteller.
In 1982, Zueva played her last role in the movie. It was a film-tale "There, on unknown paths."
