Childhood, youth
Vladimir Georgievich Laptev was born on July 13, 1946. Vladimir grew up in an incomplete family. He and two older brothers were raised by one mother, who worked as a laundress. Money was sorely lacking. But, recalling his childhood, Vladimir Georgievich assures that he did not feel shy or awkward, because at that time many lived like that. Only the absence of the father bothered. He left when Laptev was only a year old. Subsequently, it became known that he had another family.
The childhood of Vladimir Georgievich was very active. The future director spent days in the yard, but he studied well enough. After school, he decided to continue his education, not wanting to live like many people working in the area.
In 1969, he graduated from the East Siberian Academy of Arts in the city of Ulan-Ude. In 1974, Laptev graduated from the graduate school at the Russian Technical University (GITIS), the workshop of professors A.A. Goncharova and O.Ya. Remeza. The world of cinema fascinated him and opened up many new opportunities for a simple young man.
Career
In the cinema, Vladimir Laptev since 1968. He worked for a long time as an assistant director, and his first independent work was "Masquerade" according to M.Yu. Lermontov. Vladimir Laptev was accepted into the Tallinnfilm team, where at the beginning of his career he directed a film about the Great Patriotic War.
In parallel with the director's work, Laptev actively starred in films. He collaborated with the most famous stage directors and played with great actors. Vladimir Georgievich worked in the theaters of Moscow, Sevastopol, Ulan-Ude, Tallinn, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir. He played in many theatrical productions:
- "The Cherry Orchard";
- "Two maples";
- Lips.
Laptev’s game is called energetic and extremely believable. Vladimir Georgievich has a unique talent to captivate the viewer from the first minutes after entering the stage. His humor is subtle and always appropriate.
In the series "Kadetstvo" Laptev played a teacher of Russian language and literature Wand. This role has become one of the most memorable for a wide range of viewers. On the set, he was very respected. The cadets in the series were not played by professional actors, and at that time he taught at GITIS and became a real teacher for young colleagues.
By his own admission, he likes acting in films more than playing in the theater. Cinema makes it possible to convey hidden emotions and feelings to the viewer. In some scenes, even words can become superfluous if you correctly remove the actor in close-up. In the theater, one has to express emotions more vigorously.
In 1982-1984, Laptev was the artistic director of the State Russian Drama Theater of the Estonian ESSR. In the early 2000s, he worked as director of a musical theater in the city of Vladimir.
As a director, he directed many performances, which were presented to both Soviet and Russian, as well as foreign viewers. Among his works are especially distinguished:

- "Romeo and Juliet";
- "On the needle".
Currently, he is actively working as an artist, director, teacher. Laptev teaches in the capital's Theater of the Moon, and also advises the leadership of the Russian Youth Theater in Tallinn.
Vladimir Georgievich became the laureate of 14 international theater festivals. His directorial talent was highly appreciated not only by domestic, but also by foreign experts. At the Baltic House festival, he received a prize for Best Actor in the play Cherry Orchard.

In 2014, he was elected chairman of the Council of Fathers of Vladimir Region. Despite the strong employment, Laptev finds time for social activities. As chairman, he did a lot. The Council of Fathers organizes cultural events and sports events with the involvement of all family members, including fathers. An organization led by a famous actor and director helps single fathers cope with emerging issues. Laptev believes that such advice is extremely necessary and he is ready to provide the movement with all possible support, since he himself had to grow up in an incomplete family.
