Grandfather Vladimir had 2 hectares of land. Of course, it was necessary to cultivate such an area, apply progressive techniques in order to get decent crops.
Perhaps the “memory of the ancestors” at the genetic level also appeared in the talents of Vladimir Grigorievich Gusakov.
He was born in February 1953. The homeland of the future scientist was the village of Botvinovo, in Belarus. Later, the type of settlement was renamed into agro-town. Now this place is the largest district settlement.
Career
When Vladimir graduated from an eight-year school in his native village, then he went to the district school for another 2 years to receive secondary education.
Then Vladimir Grigoryevich worked as a teacher in his native rural school. This happened when the future scientist was not even 20 years old.
Then he works at the Gomel shipyard, a worker at a confectionery factory in the same city.
Over the course of three years, Vladimir Gusakov changed several professions. In 1971, he managed to work as an accountant in the brigade of his native state farm.

In the same 1971, Gusakov went to study at the Agricultural Academy. After graduating from the Faculty of Economics, the future distribution scientist goes to work as a leading economist on a collective farm in the Mogilev region.
In 1979, Vladimir Grigoryevich became a graduate student of the Agricultural Research Institute in the city of Minsk. In 1984, he defended his thesis, and after 7 years - his doctorate.
In the same 1991, a scientist was appointed director of a research institute engaged in the economics of agriculture. In 1998, he received the title of professor.
In 1999, Vladimir Gusakov became an academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
From 2013 to the present, the scientist has been the chairman of the Presidium of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences, a member of the Government of this country.
