In 2001, Peter Jackson’s film “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” was released on the movie screens - an adaptation of the first part of the trilogy of JRR Tolkien about the great battle of good and evil in Middle-earth. The next two years, Tolkien fans around the world counted the days until the release of the second and third part of the adaptations. In December 2003, all expectations were met, but the enthusiastic audience did not want to believe that the fairy tale came to an end.

Finished Tales
The story of the battle for the ring of omnipotence ended with the reign of King Aragorn in Minas Tirith. The heroes lived their lives, and their departure was highlighted by the author in the last chapters of the book.
However, The Lord of the Rings was the most famous, but not the only creation of Oxford Professor Tolkien. He wrote it as a sequel to The Hobbit, and then because his other work, The Silmarillion, was not accepted for publication. The English philologist and linguist dreamed of creating his own epic, since, in his opinion, England did not have a complete mythology.
As a result, from his pen came out and were published during his lifetime: the story "The Hobbit" and the epic novel "The Lord of the Rings", which the publishers divided into three parts with different names. The rest of the books: The Silmarillion, Children of Khurin, legends and legends were published after the death of the professor by his son Christopher Tolkien. All these books tell of the creation of a world called Arda, the history of its peoples and countries. Middle-earth, the battlefield for the ring, is just part of one of Arda's mainland.
Once upon a time there was a hobbit
John R.R.Tolkien sold the rights to The Lord of the Rings in 1968 for $ 15, 000, so Peter Jackson did not have any problems with the film adaptation. He created truly masterpiece films, carefully preserving the spirit of the great book, since he himself is an ardent fan of it. But the descendants and relatives of the professor, especially Christopher Tolkien, did not like the film adaptation.
Of all Tolkien’s relatives, only his grandson Simon supported the work of Peter Jackson, which led to a deterioration in his relationship with his family.
When Jackson decided to film "The Hobbit", it took several years to find out the copyright holder. Since "The Hobbit" was published in one part, the director wanted to shoot one film on it, but film companies demanded to break it into two parts for reasons of financial success.
Filming began on March 20, 2011, and a year later it was announced that the film version of The Hobbit will be released in three parts. This decision, although it stretched the expectation of the premieres, made it possible to supplement the action with storylines from the applications to The Lord of the Rings and to show fans as much of their beloved world as possible.
A total of three films “The Lord of the Rings” were nominated for 30 Oscars, and won 17 of them, which is an absolute record for movie trilogies.
