Biography
Born in Kingston in the early 50s of the last century. From childhood he was in sports, in his youth he was engaged in boxing. First, he achieved impressive results at the amateur level, and then became the world boxing champion in the heaviest weight.
Berbick's professional career began in Canada, he moved there immediately after a brilliant series of victories among amateur boxers. He has accounted for more than six dozen battles at the world level, the percentage of victories is more than eighty.

In the late 80s, he first became the winner of the boxing championship, led by the International Boxing Association. A few years before, he had won an even more famous boxer - Muhammad Ali, who lost to Trevor in the first round. The titled athlete died in 2006 at the hands of his own nephew in his personal home in Kingston, Jamaica.
Amateur career
In the mid-70s, Berbick spoke from his native country - Jamaica at the Pan American Games, taking the prize third place. He was also an athlete who was chosen to perform at the 1976 Olympic Games. Unfortunately, the boxer did not advance far and flew out at the very beginning.
Professional boxing
Having finished his performance at the Olympics, in the same year he decided to finally engage in amateur sports and gave preference to high-level boxing. For this purpose he crossed the ocean and moved to Canada. The first ten fights were almost without a chance won by a promising fighter, most were completed by knockouts.
For three years, the talented boxer did not know defeat. But in 1979, he was defeated by Bernardo Mercado, who won at the amateur level, but with no chance fell in the first round at a high level of boxing.
