Far start
The performance ends when the curtain is lowered. But life in the theater flows without stopping. The older generation is being replaced by young actors. Of course, veterans are remembered. They are equal. Maria Alexandrovna Sternikova is one of the few representatives of the older generation.
The biography of the actress developed without any special "convolutions". The girl was born on May 18, 1944 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in Moscow. The child grew up in a friendly atmosphere, despite the difficult post-war times.
At school, the girl studied well. Actively participated in public life. Most of all she liked to study in a drama circle. I always found a common language with classmates. I watched how her peers live and what they dream about. She was distinguished by exemplary behavior and tried not to upset her parents. When it came time to choose a profession and get an education, Masha resolutely declared her desire to become an artist. The homeworkers were not particularly surprised at the daughter’s decision, but regarded him as frivolous. At the same time, they did not categorically object.
Life on stage
In 1965, Maria Sternikova successfully completed her studies at the famous Moscow Art Theater School and was accepted into the service at the Maly Theater. Young actors here have always been treated with care and attention. It is very important not to allow the performer to be without a role at the start. Within the classical repertoire, this is not an easy task. Sternikova was introduced into the main team gradually. She very expressively performed the assigned roles in the performances of “Skapen’s Wickedness”, “Humiliated and Offended”, “Dream of the White Mountains”.
Sternikova’s theater career was quite successful. Meanwhile, the young actress was noticed by filmmakers. Work on the set allowed the talent of the performer to reveal more voluminously. She played psychologically completely opposite characters. In the film "Trains Go By, " Maria played a major role. Spectators and critics accepted the film favorably. The lyric drama "Tenderness" revealed yet another facet of the performer's talent.
