Childhood and youth
In modern tennis there is no room for chance. Leading players who are in the top ten have equal strengths and game technique. However, the psychological state is determined by the mass of side factors. Arina Sergeevna Sobolenko, a tennis player from Belarus, has the optimal physical parameters for this game. Height, weight and a developed shoulder girdle allow you to count on a successful career. The girl was born on May 5, 1998 in a sports family. Parents lived in the famous city of Minsk. Father in his youth was seriously involved in football and hockey. Mother worked as a teacher at the university.
At an early age, Arina was a capricious and restrained child. With every, even petty failure, she began to cry. With age, her character grew stronger, but she did not succeed in achieving proper composure for a long time. When the girl was six years old, her father brought her to the tennis section. At first, Arina was trained by Elena Vergeenko. After some time, the beginning tennis player went to the male coach. The quality of training after the transition has improved markedly.
On the professional court
Sobolenko did not play very well in the junior league. The results were quite decent - she regularly entered the top four best players. However, this situation did not suit Arina. To achieve more, she began performing in adult professional tournaments. In 2015, Sobolenko held 548th position in the world ranking. A year later, she entered the 159th place. And at the end of 2017, she climbed to 78th line. Such progress was not shown even by current players. But the Belarusian tennis player set herself more difficult tasks.
The next movement to the top of the rating began from the moment when Russian coach Dmitry Tursunov began to train Arina. The system of training and preparation for each match has changed significantly. Going to court, Sobolenko knew all the features of the opponent’s game. And this knowledge yielded positive results, even in games with a knowingly stronger opponent. At the end of 2018, the Belarusian tennis player took 11th position in the world ranking. Experts believe that in most games Arina wins due to her strong-willed qualities.
