The generation of our parents probably remembers the mischievous little boy who played the Bad Boy and the Leader of the Redskins in the films “The Tale of the Kibalchish Boy” and “The Leader of the Redskins”. These films became classics of the cinema of the Soviet era, and the shaggy nonsense boy was remembered by the audience for his antics and bright stunning appearance. But after two adventure films, the young actor disappeared from the screens of the already not saturated with movies time.
ACTOR BIOGRAPHY
Sergei Mikhailovich Tikhonov lived a short, but memorable and vibrant life. Born December 25, 1950 in Moscow. In 1966, Sergei, having already starred in two films, graduated from eight classes of school number 90 in the Krasnopresnensky district of Moscow. The boy was not able to get the desired acting education. Sergei tried to enroll in the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov, but was not accepted, and therefore went to serve in the Soviet Army. The actor's life ended tragically on April 21, 1972: at a very young age, not reaching 22 years old, he died when he fell under a tram. The actor was buried in Moscow at the Khimki cemetery.
FILMOGRAPHY
How did the work of Sergei Tikhonov? A talented child played his first role in the 1962 film in the black-and-white comedy film Leonid Gaidai "Business People" (made up at the Mosfilm film studio). The director borrowed the name of the film in one of Sir O'Henry's works. Gaidai filmed film almanas of three unrelated short stories based on the stories of an American writer, which became the first independent full-length film of the famous director. Two parts of the film - "The Leader of the Redskins" and "Soul Mates" - were shot in the corporate comedy style Gaidaev, and "The Roads We Choose" is in the genre of tragedy.
Tikhonov became a real star among the Soviet audience, having played his main role in The Leader of the Redskins, at that time Sergey was 13 years old. Gaidai chose this role between the 23-year-old baby Nadezhda Rumyantseva and Sergei Tikhonov, then unknown to anyone. The tomboy boy was perfect for a comedic role. Leonid Gaidai recalled about Sergey: “You don’t need to be a director to see what a rare acting gift this child had.”
The film was shot in the Crimea, in the Bakhchisarai district in the village of Kuibyshevo. Serezha managed to fight with one of the local guys because of the peaches that the aspiring actor enjoyed in someone else's orchard.
Sergei had a wonderful role in playing Johnny, the son of Colonel Ebenezer Dorsett, a wealthy landowner. A redhead, with a freckled face, a tomboy, of thin build, but strong and well physically developed, with smart eyes full of inquisitiveness and desire to know the world in all available ways. In his role, the boy played no worse than such sharks of Soviet cinema as Georgy Vitsyn and Alexey Smirnov.
In 1964, the production of the film "The Tale of the Boy-Kibalchish" based on the tale of Arkady Gaidar "The Tale of Military Secret, the Boy-Kibalchish and His Hard Word" begins at the Alexander Dovzhenko Film Studio. The film was shot by director Evgeny Sherstobitov, who invited Sergei Tikhonov to the role of Bad Boy with the words: “We won’t find the Best Bad”. Then, in an interview, E. Sherstobitov spoke about the actor: "You do not have to be a director to see what a rare acting gift this child had."

Young Dubravka at the end of the film begins to understand that human relations require participation and therefore her ridiculous conflicts are gradually beginning to resolve themselves. She puts up with a boy nicknamed "Iron" - her yard rival, finds mutual understanding with Pyotr Petrovich, feels that she unjustly offended Valentina Grigoryevna.
