"Hot spots" on the map of the planet - the place of old and new military conflicts. Year after year, these abscesses bring innumerable disasters to the peoples inhabiting them. Experts constantly monitor the events that occur in these places. And they are trying to predict where the next fire of war will break out.

Planet hot spots
The most intense events in recent years have occurred in the following regions of the Earth:
- Afghanistan;
- Iraq;
- Africa;
- Syria;
- Gaza Strip;
- Mexico;
- Philippines;
- Eastern Ukraine.
Afghanistan
The government of Afghanistan, which is forced to spend time and energy on the struggle between the warring factions, after the withdrawal of NATO troops in 2014, is not able to maintain peace in the country and the safety of its citizens.
In 2012, relations between the US and Afghanistan deteriorated sharply. The culmination of events was the mass shooting of rural residents in the province of Kandahar, which was committed by an American soldier. Among the 17 victims of the battle there were nine children.
These events led to mass unrest and provoked a series of military actions by the Afghan military.
Experts believe that in the coming years, the country's ruling elite will still be torn by sharp contradictions. And the Taliban partisan movement will certainly take advantage of these differences to achieve its extremist goals.
Iraq
The Shiite government of Iraq is increasingly coming into conflict with other ethnic and religious groups within the country. The ruling elites seek to take control of all the institutions of power. This leads to a disturbance in the already unstable balance between Shiite, Kurdish and Sunni groups.
Iraqi government forces confront the Islamic state. At one time, terrorists managed to include several cities in Iraq as part of their "caliphate". Tension remains in that part of the country where the positions of the Kurds are strong, which do not abandon attempts to create Iraqi Kurdistan.
Experts note that violence in the country is becoming more pronounced. The country is surely waiting for a new round of civil war.
Sub-Saharan Africa
Problem areas in Africa:
- Mali
- Kenya;
- Sudan;
- Congo
- Somalia.
Since 2012, tension has begun to grow in those countries of the "black continent" that are located south of the Sahara. The list of “hot spots” is headed by Mali, where as a result of a coup d'etat, power was changed.
Another troubling conflict has emerged in the Sahel region of northern Nigeria. In recent years, radical Islamists from the odious Boko Haram group have destroyed thousands of civilians. The government is trying to apply tough measures, but violence is only expanding: new youth forces are joining the ranks of extremists.
For more than two decades, lawlessness reigns in Somalia. Neither the legitimate government of the country, nor the UN peacekeeping forces can stop these destructive processes. And even the intervention of neighboring countries did not lead to an end to the violence, the center of which became radical Islamists.
Experts believe that only a balanced and clear government policy can change the situation in this part of Africa.
Kenya
The country continues to maintain conditions for conflict. Kenya is characterized by high youth unemployment, terrifying poverty and social inequality. The initiated security reforms were suspended. The greatest concern of experts is the increasing ethnic fragmentation of the population.
The threat from militant groups that settled in Somalia does not stop. The response to their attacks may be a belligerent reaction from the local Muslim community.
Sudan
The separation of the southern part of the country in 2011 did not solve the so-called "Sudanese problem." A small local elite continues to accumulate wealth and seeks to control power in the country. The situation at this “hot spot” is aggravated by the growing confrontation between the peoples that make up different ethnic groups.
The ruling party is torn by internal divisions. A general deterioration in social status and a recession in the economy lead to increased discontent among the people. The struggle against the unification of large groups in the states of the Blue Nile, Darfur and South Kordofan is growing. Military action devastates the state treasury. Civilian casualties have become commonplace.
According to experts, at least 200 thousand people died during the so-called Darfur conflict, more than two million became refugees.
The government uses humanitarian aid coming to Sudan as one of the bargaining tools. This turns mass hunger among ordinary people into an element of the military and political strategy of the state.
Syria
The conflict in this country remains in the wake of international news. The number of victims is growing. Western media every day predict the fall of Assad's “regime”. Accusations of deliberate use of chemical weapons against the people of his country continue to pour in his address.
The country continues the struggle between supporters and opponents of the current government. The gradual radicalization of the opposition movement is rocking the situation, the spiral of military confrontation begins to unwind with renewed vigor.
The ongoing violence strengthens the position of the Islamists. They manage to rally around themselves those who are disappointed with the policy of the Western powers.
Members of the world community are trying hard to coordinate their actions in the region and translate the conflict into a plane of political settlement.
In the eastern part of Syria, government troops have long been out of active combat operations. The activity of the Syrian army and allied Russian forces with it has moved to the western regions of the country.
In the southern part of the province of Homs, the Americans are the bosses, who from time to time clash with pro-government troops. Against this background, the country's population continues to endure hardship.
Gaza Strip
The Middle East is also on the list of problem regions. Here are Israel, the Palestinian territories and Lebanon. The civilian population of the region continues to be controlled by local terrorist organizations, the largest of which are Fatah and Hamas. From time to time, the Middle East is hit by rocket attacks and kidnappings.
A long-standing cause of conflict is the confrontation between Israel and the Arabs. In the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Islamic movement, against which Israel regularly conducts military operations, is gradually gaining strength.
Mexico
There are conditions for conflict on the other side of the planet. In North America, Mexico remains the “hot spot”. Here, on an industrial scale, narcotic substances are produced and distributed. There are giant drug cartels in the country, whose history goes back more than one decade. These structures are assisted by corrupt government officials. Cartels can boast of very broad ties: they have their own people in the army, the police, in the country's top leadership
Bloody conflicts constantly arise between warring criminal structures, in which the civilian population is involuntarily involved. The law enforcement forces and the Mexican army are involved in this ongoing confrontation, but success in the war against the drug mafia has not succeeded. In some states of the country, the population does not trust the police so much that they even began to create local self-defense units there.
Philippines
For several decades, the conflict has continued between the government and the armed groups of Islamic separatists who settled in the southern Philippines. The demand of the rebels is the formation of an independent Muslim state.
When the positions of the so-called “Islamic state” in the Middle East region were greatly shaken, some of the Islamists from this region rushed to Southeast Asia, including the Philippines. Philippine government forces conduct regular operations against the rebels, who in turn organize periodic attacks on law enforcement.
