The name Marika Ryokk will not even be remembered by all professional art critics. Meanwhile, she was a world star. Charming woman. Beauty. Talented actress and dancer. It is enough to brush off the dust of decades and get true pleasure from contemplation and listening. Not everyone will understand. Not everyone will appreciate it. Elite art is perceptible to sophisticated natures. True aesthetics.

Saving Chardash
Young Russians are little interested in history. Business, sex, gum club - this is a meager set of their interests and entertainment. And there is no one to blame for this, since the native country voluntarily chose degradation as the main vector of the movement. And the story of the inimitable Marika Ryokk will be perceived as an old and naive tale. Yes, her biography really looks like a legend from "1001 Nights" with elements of a thriller and a detective story. According to reports, the girl was born on November 3, 1913 in the Arab city of Cairo.
The child was born in the family of a Hungarian architect with world authority. It was at that time that Edward Ryokka completed a contract for the construction of a luxury hotel in the capital of Egypt. Upon completion of the work, the family returned to Budapest, where they lived on a permanent basis. Marika never knew the need in her childhood. She was brought up within the framework of established traditions strictly and purposefully. The main feature of this approach was that the girl did not spend time in idleness. From ancient times it is known that idleness is the mother of all vices.
As soon as Marika’s skeleton got stronger, she was sent to primary choreographic school. The education of the children must be taken seriously. For this purpose, Ryokki moved to Paris, where the best professional choreography school in Europe was located. It was 1924 in the yard, when the largest bank in Hungary, as they say, burst. All family savings turned to ashes. In order to maintain her former way of life and not fall into poverty, Marika's mother donated her jewelry to the pawnshop.
At eleven years old, it is worth paying attention to this fact, Marika made a mature statement not of age. She was ready to feed her family, earning the necessary amounts by dancing. By that time, the girl was already quite knowledgeable in dance technique, and best of all, she managed the Hungarian folk dance "Czardash". Father had a great effort to agree to this option. Up to this point, even in a terrible dream, he had no idea that his beloved daughter would grimace at the fun of the tipsy audience.

The girl of a dream
The young dancer was accepted into the ballet troupe, which performed on the stage of the Moulin Rouge famous throughout Europe. And this was only the beginning, which made it possible to learn from our own experience how the backstage lives and what the rules are here. The professional career of a dancer began with a long tour of US cities. As part of the Hoffmann Girls group, Marika has demonstrated her unique abilities for four years. But all good things come to an end - in 1929, America was hit by a crisis. It's time to go home.
Here in Europe, they remember her, love and wait. The tour schedule is tight. Actually creativity in the work is gone. It is enough to use skills and impeccable technique of movements. And here, in 1930, Marik Ryokk was invited to act in films. One of the reasons is that sound came to the cinema. The characteristic and expressive actresses of silent pictures are no longer in demand. Directors require different qualities from performers, primarily voices. She played a episodic role well.
In 1933, she was entrusted with the main role in the film "Ghost Train". This comedy opens the door to Marika Ryokk into the world of cinema. New love captivates the actress, and she tries not to let the directors and viewers down. At the same time, experienced scriptwriters try to use its potential to the full 100%. In almost every tape, Ryokk performs a temperamental or smooth dance. It seems to others that the actress does not tire at all of the intense workloads. After the film "Light cavalry" the doors of all movie studios in Germany opened to her.
For three years, Marika starred in ten films. This record lasted for many years. But finally, in 1940, she becomes the wife of the German director Georg Jacobi. He takes care of his property and removes his beloved actress only in the lead roles. Meanwhile, a new technological breakthrough is taking place in the cinema - the paintings are getting color. The cost of filming increases significantly. The number of takes, respectively, decreases. The responsibility of the actors is increasing.
In 1944, Marika Ryokk starred in the color comedy "The Girl of My Dreams." The history of this picture deserves special attention. After the Victory in 1945, this film, among other trophies, was delivered to the Soviet Union. Rumor has it that Stalin himself looked at the tape. I looked and allowed to show the picture in all cinemas of the country. It should be noted that older people remember this easy fun film. In this context, it is important to note that Ryokk did not take part in the filming of propaganda materials during the fascist regime. This saved her.
