Andrey was born on January 25, 1957 in the capital. His parents were the famous director Stanislav Rostotsky and Nina Menshikova, an actress who played in many Russian films. They devoted their whole life to work, constantly absent, either shooting, or expeditions. The boy was raised by her grandmother, who lived in the working village of Bogorodsky near Moscow.
Childhood and youth
Since childhood, Andrei grew up a mobile and athletic boy. The fact that he lived practically in the village helped him grow up to be a real man, able to stand up for himself and hammer a nail. His main hobbies were pioneer campaigns. Despite the fact that he studied in a special school, he did not show any zeal for study. The teachers waved his hand at him, and Andrew seriously became interested in art. In the tenth grade, he became a volunteer in the acting workshop of Sergei Bondarchuk, and then entered the VGIK on a common basis.
Filming and tricks
Rostotsky’s career as a movie actor began almost immediately after admission, this circumstance almost led to expulsion due to lack of study. Only the award of the VGIK festival gave the aspiring actor a chance to continue his studies.
As a student, Andrei performed his first trick on the set of the film "They Fought for their Homeland", which so far none of the stuntmen can repeat. In the future, the actor tried to do all the tricks on his own, for this he regularly went in for sports. He was fond of equestrian triathlon, even became the CCM in this form, had a rank in tourism and athletics.
In 1978, Rostotsky was drafted into the army. He served in the Separate Cavalry Regiment, while co-starring in the film "Volcano Hussar Squadron." On the set of this picture, the actor met his first wife, Marina Yakovleva. The marriage lasted a year and a half. Andrei knew his second wife Maryana from childhood, they lived in neighboring porches, their parents were friends of families. Maryana was 8 years younger than her husband and was engaged in art criticism. In this marriage, the actor had a daughter.
Rostotsky was fond of fencing with historical weapons, was an excellent rider and acting stuntman. In combination with acting, all this made him one of the most sought-after actors of those years. Films with his participation enjoyed continued success with the audience.
