Biography
The future actress was born in 1948 in Volgograd. Their family was artistic: both of her parents sang in operetta. They were beautiful, talented, and one day a representative of the Riga operetta saw them. He invited the artists to move to Riga, and they agreed.
Olya’s childhood passed in the capital of Latvia. Parents from an early age instilled in her a love of music and dance, so she studied at a music school and ballet school. The bright girl was noticed and began to be invited to popular science films, which were shot at the Riga film studio. Here Prokhorova saw a movie being shot, and this world simply fascinated her.
After graduating from school, Olga submitted documents to VGIK in Moscow, and she was lucky to enter this university. She studied with future celebrities: Natalia Belokhvostikova, Natalya Arinbasarova, Natalya Bondarchuk, Natalya Gvozdikova, Nikolai Eremenko Jr.

Movie career
Olga Prokhorova’s debut in the cinema took place while studying at VGIK: she played an episode in the film “By the Lake” (1969), which was shot by her teacher Sergei Gerasimov.

Her partners on the set were Nonna Mordyukova, Nikolai Rybnikov and Nikolai Eremenko Jr. The Ivanov family receives a student from the capital who fell in love with their daughter. These ordinary people with an open soul completely change the picture of the world of a young man who lived a free life and did not consider himself indebted to anyone - a sort of tumbleweed. However, getting to know Lyudmila and her parents closer, he realized that their simple philosophy was much deeper and more honest than his youthful fallacies.

This story of the uprising and execution of the leader of the Cossacks found a lively response from the audience. Moreover, such stars as Yevgeny Matveev, Tamara Semina and Viya Artmane were shot in the film.
